This inn is so quaint and the staff is very friendly. The building embodies the Key West atmosphere and it has a great location. The only downfall to staying here is that there is no parking. The inn will show you a place to park which is a few blocks away and it costs ten dollars a day! Otherwise, the rooms are unique and comfortable, the staff is friendly and will accommodate you in any way (they will help you plan and book unique experiences in Key West), and the complimentary breakfast is delicious!

Yes, parking can be an issue here in Key West. We should have been more clear about that before you arrived, and we'll definitely remember this for our future guests. Still, we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and our quaint hotel, Kara, and we'd love to have you back again soon!

We booked online based on previous reviews, we were not disappointed it lived up to our expectations. We were made to feel welcome from the start. Our party was two couples and both rooms we had were on the ground floor opening onto the pool area. There were rooms upstairs with there own terrace. It didn't have a bar as it was a bed and breakfast but the owner had provided alcoholic and soft drinks with an honesty box, a great touch.

Breakfast was served in the lobby area and you could sit inside in the breakfast room or outside your room. The breakfast was continental and had a wide choice including, fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, cheese and eggs.

It was in a great location next to Duvall Street in the centre of Key West, however as it was off Duvall Street it was not at all noisy.

We would highly recommend a stay at this B&B.

We're so lucky to have that great access to all the fun of Duval without the late-night noise! It sounds like you had a blast with us, Pat, and we couldn't be happier to hear it. Thanks for staying with us, and keep us in mind next time you need to get away!

My wife and I spent 9 days at the Seascape in June 2013. What a wonderful place and staff. Naturally I read reviews before booking and noted an overall high satisfaction rate. My advice to people when considering lodging is to truly understand what different venues are. If you are looking for a 5 star experience complete with room service, full bar, large pool and all the comforts of the Ritz at your disposal then a B&B is not for you. Its unfair to book at a B&B and then complain its not like a 5 star hotel. That is available in Key West for a price. Likewise there are bigger B&B's in Key West that have more to offer but again that comes at a price. The Seascape is what a small B&B should be and then some. I can't say enough about Baiba and Val. Whatever we needed we received. Any questions about the town they extended themselves above and beyond. The maintenance crew always had a smile and local tips. The maids were friendly and efficient. We stayed in room 6. We did not experience the problems that a few other guests noted. The a/c was working properly and the white noise was perfect as the Key West roosters are up and at it early. Obviously they spend no time on Duval imbibing to the wee hours. The plumbing is what one would expect in an old town turn of the century inn. We found the water pressure and temp to be more than satisfactory. The bed was very comfortable. The Jacuzzi was perfect for the early nights. I did note that another guest said it was dirty but that is plain not fair. It sits under a tree and leaves fall. They can't keep a staff member there 24/7 to catch leaves as they fall. My wife and I thought it maybe a good idea for the Inn to leave a skimmer by the pool. We would certainly have taken the 3 minutes to help out before climbing in. Its like our home when we are there anyways. The breakfast was what it should have been. It was fresh, plentiful and convenient. We did not experience any problems what so ever with the selection or quality. If guests want more it is available at many great Key West breakfast venues. We had an incredible breakfast at The Blue Heaven but I digress.. In closing I would recommend the Seascape Tropical Inn to friends with confidence. I would make it clear that it is a quaint, old town, small, turn of the century B&B with all the nuances one would and should expect. We will be back soon, very soon!!!

Room Tip: room 6 was private and quiet.

Just returned from a fantastic 4 days in Key West. We went by ferry from Fort Myers which arrived at Noon. A good tip is to use Parrot Porters at the Ferry Terminal as we left our large suitcase for them to deliver to Seascape. All for 10 USD which meant we could amble to Seascape in the 85 degree heat without lugging it.

we had a poolside room, one of 3 complete with air con and fridge. The bonus was the pool/jacuzzi which was virtually our own most nights whilst the other guests were on the town. Brilliant! The receptionist Baiba was very helpful and we met the new owners who have plans to improve facilities further. Breakfasts were a excellent buffet with bagels, fresh fruit etc.
One house off of Duval the location was excellent and we would stay there again.

If you want to experience the beauty of Key West that drew Hemingway to this island, the Seascape Tropical inn is a great start to your journey. The location is fantastic with close proximity to Duval as well as the Hemingway house. We were able to switch between the vibrant lifestyle of the lovely bars and restaurants on Duval, or withdraw into a laid back mode walking towards the old town with the beautiful and quaint houses around. Some of our favorite eating spots around the guesthouse were Frenchies cafe (best croissants ever) and the Cafe (amazing veggie cafe on Duval). The service we received was wonderful as the staff/management are cordial and easy to deal with. The guesthouse owner, Sandy is very personable and friendly, a great guy to talk to. I could certainly see myself visiting here again on my next trip to Key West.

Room Tip: Try the rooms facing the terrace. Lovely view from up there.

What a lovely review, Satya! It's so good to hear that you enjoyed every minute of your time in Key West. Between our relaxed vibe and the fun of Duval St's nightlife, it sounds like you had a fabulous stay! Thank you for sharing that with us. Come back and see us again next time you need to get away!

We arrived on a Friday morning and were told we couldn't check in for a few hours, which was understandable, but what we were surprised to find out was that there was no "living" area at the home for us to sit while we waited for our room. The small office/kitchen area was not air conditioned, and was very hot and uncomfortable, and the pictures of the pool online were deceptive as it was not very inviting (size of Jacuzzi) and dirty, so we decided to walk around Duval street until we could check in. Later on that evening, we took showers, but the hot water didn't work and when we told the maintenance man the next morning about their being no hot water, he proceeded to question us on whether we turned on the hot water correctly. He finally went up and fixed the problem. When we went into the kitchen for breakfast in the am, we were surprised to find out that it was pastries pulled directly from the freezer, (they were still frozen), some bagels and fruit..disappointing since we have stayed at other bed with a similar price range and served a real breakfast. The maid was rude and made us feel like we were a major inconvenience. I would NOT recommend this bed and breakfast, as a matter of fact, we walked around one morning and checked out other places and there were PLENTY of other locations that were much cleaner, nicer, more amenities, newer facilities and less expensive, and they were all right off duval street.

It was truly disheartening to learn of your recent visit, Krissy. We want all of our guests to feel at home, and we wish that we could have offered you a more relaxing getaway. That said, we would have been happy to move you to another room or discuss other ways to help you enjoy your time with us. Still, we will certainly take your feedback into consideration as we determine the next steps on the road to improvement. Thank you for your candor.

My husband and I were visiting Key West because we were attending a wedding at the Hemmingway house. We were told to stay in a bed and breakfast close to Duval street, so we could enjoy the night life. We chose Seascape because it was less than a block away from the Hemmingway house. Seascape exceeded ALL of our expectations. It was clean, the location was ideal, and the property was very intimate. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us with everything we needed (places to visit, printing our boarding passes, extra towels, etc.). I can't describe how wonderful the staff was. The free breakfast was plentiful. The rooms were clean and cool! The air conditioning was fantastic (the humidity was off the charts)! The location was wonderful. We were walking distance from Mallory Square, the Southernmost point, the fishing charters... everything you could think of! The best part about the location was the fact that although we were close to Duval Street, when we wanted to go to bed- you couldn't hear anything! It was amazing! It was the perfect, peaceful get-away my husband and I weren't expecting! We didn't think we would like Key West, but Seascape definitely helped changed our minds! In fact, we are contemplating on visiting again... mostly because Seascape was just a wonderful place to stay! Thank you for a wonderful 3 day vacation, Seascape. You have a fantastic location and business.
