I believe that if you want to feel Key West in his old style Curry mansion is your first step .
The staff told me that this hotel was listed as top 100 best hotel of us in the 2006.
the staff is really kind and service very good.
The rooms are beautiful and any details in old style is perfect.
breakfast close to the swimming pool is very relaxing in the morning .
the main street of key west is close to the hotel …. 2 minutes walking….and some attractive place also.
the rates finally are acceptable .

My wife and I are in our 60's and we came with our son and his wife who are in their 30's. We arrived just in time for the 5 to 7 PM cocktails serenaded by guitarist singing soft songs. The rooms, while not overly large, were clean and comfortable. The clientele were older and refined. Not a great place for small children. The mansion itself takes you back over a hundred years to another time in Key West. Decorated beautifully right down to the dining room place settings. Another big perk is their full American breakfast which is complimentary. You are literally 30 feet from Duval St but noise and commotion were not a factor. You can park your car when you arrive and never use it till you leave. Edith, the owner, was personable and informative, and fun to talk with. Unhesitatingly, I would recommend this lovely, elegant old mansion to friends and relatives.

Room Tip: I don't think you get a bad room here.

Nice Southern Mansion in Key West built in 1855. It's a Bed and Breakfast with rooms than run between $200-$300 a night based on size and time of year. We had the owners suite with AC, Flat screen TV's, ceiling fans, private bath with whirlpool tub. One huge master room with the main bed, a second room had a smaller couch type bed, a fold-up in the closet and then the huge bath room. Breakfast was nicely done 8-10am and each evening 5-7 they server cocktails and snacks on the pouch. If you like to drink then this is the place for you! It's free and considering the normal cost in Key West is close to $10 a drink, have three each and you just took $60 buck off the room cost, not including the $10 (each) or $20 for breakfast, so that's like $80 off. Now your room cost is only around $200 for the biggest suite before taxes. They have a fair amount of parking on the grounds, so no parking in the street like some places.

They are only half a block from Duval Street (plus or minus) as it can be a little noisy in the middle on the night as places close town the drunks go home for the night. The plus is it's easy walking to everything. The carpets could stand to be replaced an well as some of the furniture.

The only two issues I had was with their free Wi-Fi! I could only get one bar in the bathroom and it wouldn't reach the bedroom, so don't plan on setting in your room and checking e-mail. Down stairs the signal in fine, but this is a simple problem that for the room price they should fix, it's called WAP of Wireless Access Point (put one up stairs and then everyone will have Internet).

Second, maybe it's just me, but I want a lock on door that can't be opened from the outside! They have a keyed deadbolt on the door, but that's it. It's a cheap standard lock that I could pick in minute or use a bump key on. There was no safe in the room, so there is not place to your stuff. At a minimum I think most B&B's should spend the money and use BEST locks on the doors. It's not a problem until someone gets hurt or has all there stuff is stolen. It would be simple to make a copy of the rooms keys and come back anytime. Considering some of the folks in the Keys, a little better security pays for itself (think the cost of lawsuit when something happens).

We're not big drinkers, so the free booze doesn't matter to us. The breakfast was nice and parking good. Rooms were clean, the AC is two wall units, so it could be a little under powered for middle of summer, but was fine while we were there in April.

Considering everything I would still stay there again. I like the place, parking, short distance to Duval Street and the very friendly staff with the free breakfast and cocktails.

I just read this review, don't know how I missed it for a month. Thank you very much for your comments. Your review was very factual and informative for potential guests and certainly for us. We truly appreciate feedback presented in a polite, informative manner.
We already have plans to replace carpeting in the guestwing rooms this summer and the throw rugs in the mansion rooms. That was the simple fix. The WIFI is another matter. I will certainly pass on the info to our computer support company, but they have been out many times trying to boost the signal. Our router is actually positioned up on the second floor in the mansion. We will continue to address this matter, I promise.
It was also a very good suggstion about the locks. All rooms in the other 2 buildings have interior locks and we will install them in the 4 rooms upstairs right away.
Thanks again for the review, we hope to see you again.

Our recent stay at Curry Mansion Inn couldn't have been more perfect. I found it through TripAdvisor. It was very reasonably priced (half the price of the big old town hotels) and included breakfast, happy hour, and self-guided tours of the historic mansion. It was right off Duval St., yet even on the weekend we didn't hear any noise inside our room. Breakfast included cooked to order eggs/omelettes and there was cream cheese full of chunks of lox for the bagels (get there early for the bagels as they ran out just after 9AM). Happy hour included live piano, a full bar, and munchies (chips, crackers, cheese, vegetables & dip). If you get thirsty in between, you can get a soda in the machine for 50 cents. If you need to do laundry, there is no charge for machine use or supplies. There are restrooms by the pool. The front porch is huge and there is a nice courtyard with a pool. There is plenty of free parking. There is a computer for use in the main house (free) and wifi. We had 3 rooms, in the annex and in the James House across the street, and they were all very nice. The annex rooms have huge showers and the water was hot and had great water pressure. There are also rooms in the mansion but they were booked up. The owner lives in the house all winter. This inn is very well run and fully staffed. I can't wait to go back.

Our recent stay, April 23-26, 2012, could not have been any better. We arrived with a large party of 14 adults. The employees were so friendly and helpful that we instantly felt at home. The rooms were unbelievably beautiful. Breakfast and Happy Hour were fantastic. The location could not have been any better! We could walk anywhere and everywhere and needed to after the wonderful breakfast! We had so much fun and throughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend it and would love to return!
