Plenty of free parking, water sports available, nice pier to walk out on + for water entry, great snorkel spot--especially under the pier + at higher tide. Nice shade areas under the palm trees altho you still need sun screen--I got really burned, must have been from the water reflection.

Coming from Pensacola Beach there is hard to find a nicer beach. With that said we love coming to Higgs beach when in KW. They clean the beaches around sunrise every morning to get rid of a lot of the seaweed that has washed up. It has a nice pier you can go down with stairs in 2 locations to get to the deeper parts. The last set of stairs is where to go for the best snorkeling area since there is more fish hanging around by the steps and you can swim out to see more. We saw manatee swimming around the steps early morning this time, the locals said that is rare. The water is shallow enough to walk out almost to the end of the pier. It was about 7 or 8 ft deep towards the end. There is grass in patches towards the shore but plenty of open sandy bottom water after that. The beach isn't very big but we never saw it crowded the week we were there. There seems to be plenty of FREE parking, and bike racks available to keep your bikes safe. The water is clear and usually very calm. They have umbrellas and chairs you can rent for $20, we bring our own chairs. There is a great restaurant called Salute close by for lunch and drinks. There is a covered gazebo with tables to sit at also if you need to get out of the sun for a while. A volleyball court is set up and we saw people playing every day. There are bathrooms available. Plenty of trash cans around and it is always clean when we go. It isn't the best beach in Florida but it is really nice for KW and it is FREE. Located down the road from Smathers beach and past the White street pier. There is also a park across the street that looked nice but we didn't visit. Dogs are welcome, we saw a few pass through but never any mess left behind. If you want a relaxing beach day this is a great place for that.!

This was hands down my favorite beach to go to. The sandy white beach was nice and was not over crowded the water was also nice as there was a pier that we could walk out on to get past the seaweed which wasn't that bad to begin with. The restroom facility were very clean but weren't very big. Overall very nice beach.

My husband and I were staying down the street at The Grand Guesthouse. We came to Higgs twice at sunset to BBQ. The beach is clean, bathrooms nearby, and it has a beautiful view. Can't wait to go again.

Not much of a beach area but the water was warm and clear! It's so amazing to us to be able to the through the water since we are used to the Georgia coast!
