Owner description: See the best of Key West on the tour that has been entertaining visitors since 1958. Our expert 'engineers' and friendly staff have delighted guests with the legends and tales of Ernest Hemingway, and Tennessee Williams and the stories of the pirates, Indians, wreckers and artists who called this island home. 90 minutes and over 100 points of interest. No Key West vacation is complete without the world famous Conch Tour Train.

This tour provides a good overview of Key West, highlighting many interesting facts. However, it is advertised as much more than it is. The actual tour, which passes all the sites, takes about 45-50 minutes. You are then dropped off for a 5-minute break a block from where you started. If you choose to go back on, you are brought back to the exact same locations again to get off and see the sites (some of which require an additional fee). Enjoyable tour guide (except for when he asked a parent to quiet their infant, who, by the way, was just babbling like an infant usually does). Overall, an OK experience but probably not worth the $30+ per person.

The train had knowledgeable and personable staff; both Sarge and Hank made good impressions with our young children. The tour itself was interesting and definitely pointed out things you otherwise wouldn't notice. I wish there were more stops; we still walked a lot between destinations. It's also pretty pricey: $26 per adult (though kids are free). Still, the admission is good for two days, and if you're in town that long and planning on doing lots of walking I'd say it's worth it. (We rode from about 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., getting on and off and walking to other destinations as needed.)

Our first trip to Key West would not have been as enjoyable without the Conch Train Tour. The sights, sounds and information given by our guide made the entire trip much more enjoyable. It gave us an understanding of the history and traditions of Key West.

Although I thought it a bit overpriced, t was a fun way to see Key West and learn about the city. You can ride two days in a row but the stops aren't really convenient for using as a way to get around. Still, we enjoyed the ride and seeing some of Key West we hadn't wandered in to yet. It gave us ideas if where to come back to.

Recent trip to Key West included a ride/tour on the Conch Train. Tour was informative and worth taking. If you are wanting to get off and look around be aware there are only 4 stops and three of them are within a stretch of 4 blocks to each other. I wanted to see South Point but had to get off and walk 10 blocks. They drop you off in the middle of town. If I was to visit there again I would not use this train. We wanted to visit some places there but train was not as we expected. The ability to get on and off to visit sites is a must in Key West. Beautiful site and lots to see.
