Owner description: See the best of Key West on the tour that has been entertaining visitors since 1958. Our expert 'engineers' and friendly staff have delighted guests with the legends and tales of Ernest Hemingway, and Tennessee Williams and the stories of the pirates, Indians, wreckers and artists who called this island home. 90 minutes and over 100 points of interest. No Key West vacation is complete without the world famous Conch Tour Train.

If you have never been to Key West before, or if your only exposure is as a cruise ship passenger, invest the time and do the train (or co-owned trolley) at least once. You get a nice history lesson and get to see some parts of oldtown architecture you'd otherwise miss.

We only had a couple of hours off our cruise ship, so this was the best way to see as much as possible in a short window of time. Also, I found the heat and humidity pretty debilitating, so was grateful to be carted around instead of having to walk far. The tour was moderately interesting, although a lot of it was through residential neighborhoods (quiet zones). The guide himself obviously loved his adopted city, and had an engaging, gossipy narrative. Mallory Square seemed like a total tourist trap, and the line for cruisers returning to their ships was kind of a drag. I wasn't terribly inspired to return to Key West. After all the hype I'd heard over the years, I expected it to seem like more... well, fun.

And you will see all Key West's sights . For one price you get a 2 day pass so you will not miss a thing. There a multiple jumping on/off stops so you get it all. At least one of our guides had spent his life on the island and gave us great info. My advice is to get on the 9am train when the crowds are absent . 90 minutes round trip if u decided not to hop off. Enjoy ...

I have been to Key West a few times over the years and I just don’t get it. It is pathetic and sad. Whatever you do, don’t drive to get there - it is excruciatingly long, often slow and surprisingly boring. And then there is NO place to park. And the drive back is even worse. BUT, if your cruise ship stops there, jump on one of the Conch Trains and be done with it. This is a comfortable, covered ride where you can actually hear the guide tell the interesting history while you view the crowded streets, dilapidated buildings (termites), ridiculous restaurants, sorry beaches (man made) and that ugly, I mean iconic buoy at the south point, all while being kept safely away from the scary ‘non conch' t-shirt hawkers lurking in every other doorway. What does it say that the most prestigious job here is to be the Conch Train driver? And he will expect a tip. Of course, we’re in Key West! Now, run, don’t walk, back to your ship and scratch this off your bucket list.

Overall we feel it was a good value. We had a group of 8, mostly older adults, limited walking abilities, and this tour was a good way to get an overview of key west.
Our tour guide was nice and provided lots of descriptions. They do several stops and you can get off and walk around an area, then catch the next "train".
For the price it's not bad for a couple of hour plus tour. Half our group got off at one stop and picked up on the next train, they had nothing negative to say.

There are public bathrooms available at one of the stops. There are a couple of quiet zones where the guide can't talk. Trains are powered by propane/natural gas.
