“The View!”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

The view alone is worth the price of admission. The climb was fine, but a little scary. The museum was very informative (and air conditioned). I am huge fan of getting view of the island so this place and the shipwreck museum are worth the price of admission just for their views of the island.

“Worth It”
Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

Small gift shop but loaded with very nice items...the climb up 88 steps on a spiral staircase wasn't too terribly bad and there are a couple of small "resting" spots along the way. The trip down for me, was less desirable. Once at the top however; the breeze is magnificent and the birds eye view of Key West spectacular! Definitely NOT for those with a fear of heights though! The signs pointing to and explaining different landmarks was interesting as well. The grounds are very well kept and placed throughout are amazing statues transporting you back in time. The lighthouse and gorgeous Banyan tree right next to it make for some beautiful photos! Glad we took the time to see this.

“Nice... interesting”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

Cost $13 to go up the lighthouse tower. Spectacular views. Great signage to find things in the distance. Lovely breeze because climbing the 88 steps are step and hot. Really good statuary in the gardens. Nice gift shop with a lovely crotchety old fella selling tickets. Try to get him to smile... it's fun.

“A must see for Key West.”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

The lighthouse is worth the climb. From the balcony you have a beautiful view of the island and signs showing you which way everything is. If you have AAA you get a discount.

“Climb to the top for great views”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

The old Key West lighthouse is now located quite far in land, due to land reclamation projects. It's located just across the road from the Hemingway house, and you can easily do both in a day.

The climb to the top of the tower is slightly scary as the stairs do not reach all the way to the outer wall and are a tiny bit wobbly. Still the climb is well worth the view you get from the top as you can see the ocean in most directions.

The keepers house is also worth going in as it explains the history of the place, why it's not on the coast etc. It has a short video that's quite fun to watch.
