There is a small gift shop that you enter through, and once you pay the $10 fee ($9 for seniors or students) you are free to enjoy the grounds wich are lovely, the small museum that is informative of the keeper and their lifestyle, and of course the lighthouse. The lighthouse is something like 88 steps, with two porthole windows about halfway up that you can look out of and of course the viewing deck in the top. The view is really great and of all the times we've been to Key West, there is really no other way to get this view unless you're in the lighthouse. Beware, the stairs are mostly floating in the middle and it can get a little nerve wracking, but if you can get through that the view is fabulous!
