If anything climb the lighthouse and see all of KW ! Not recommended for anyone with health problems or large people. It is a very narrow staircase and limited room on top.

There is a $10 admission per person which is pricey, but it has great views. Since it was a beautiful clear day my boyfriend wanted to take some pictures since it has the best views of Key West. He paid the $10 and I waited outside. The pictures were terrific, but worth the $10 probably not. I certainly would not pay for two or a family.

Great views from the top of the lighthouse but it was probably not worth the $10 adult admission price. The stairs up are extremely tight and wide enough for one person to pass. At the top, the observation desk is also a snug fit to navigate. The keeper's quarter "museum" was a complete waste.

Though the lighthouse itself is only about 85 feet tall, it gives a wonderful view of Key West and the surrounding waters. Like the 88 spiral iron stairs to the top, the price of admission is a little steep. And unless things have changed, they didn’t cut a break for my USCG credentials. Price aside, it’s worth it.
As one who’s been in many, many lighthouses up and down the east coast, including those still in operation, I’m enamored with their history, engineering, mechanicals and the day to day lives of those who kept the light burning. My wife says that if they ever reinstated the Lighthouse Service, I’d be the first to sign up.
Enjoy the view. God bless.

Yes, it is a small lighthouse, but it gives you a big view of Key West. Good activity if you need to entertain the family and have already seen Key West's top ten sights. We liked the lightkeepers house, and thought the video was quite interesting.
