The Best Western Hibiscus In Key West was more than I expected from a Best Western. Very clean, nice staff and close to the popular Duval Street. Breakfast each morning was run of the mill typical free breakfast. Pool was clean and attractive. If you are staying in Key West be sure to visit Fort Taylor...best beach in Key West.

After many hours seacrching for a room for 6 (3adults & 3children) this seemed to match our price and requiremnts, although we had to book 2 rooms. Family rooms seem to be non-existent with Key West. Lobby construction didn't affect us in any way and you may have noticed some workers on the roof if you bothered to look for them. Whole complex was quite small but not overpowering, you could in fact say quaint. Pool was good size, hot tub HOT!!. Our room was larger than we had expected with 2 queen size beds and we actually had ample space for my family group 2 adults & 3 children (10/5/2yrs) within the rooms. Our family friend had the second room on his own!. Very close to Duval Street, which is the place to go with a visit to Mallory Sq for the Sunset. Southern most point, 10 minutes walk away but not much else there, we felt!.. Camilles across the road for Breakfast good/recommended!. However we went to 'Commodores' for dinner which is on the waterfront by Mallory Sq. felt that they didn't want us their, no childrens menu and no chicken for alternative meal for them, so after being served chilled water we left!. Back to the Motel the air con was noisy (inside room under window setup)but done the job. Overall no major complaints and would gladly stay at this Motel again!.

We stayed at the BW Hibiscus from 6/6 - 6/10 and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was very nice for the price we paid. Nice big clean room with a comfy bed. There was a small fridge, which was nice to keep our water bottles cold and a microwave, which we did end up using. The bathroom consist of bathtub shower, sink & toilet. There is a bonus sink outside the bathroom with nice counter space & a large mirror. I was still able to get ready while my boyfriend was using the bathroom, great feature. The room is very basic, no frills, but big & clean. One problem was the water pressure in the shower, it was switching from hot to cold every few minutes, but it was nothing major. The continental breakfast ends at 9:00am, so get up early! It consist of bagels, muffins, cereal, pastries, coffee & juices. Nothing special, but it got us going in the moring till we had lunch. The pool is a good size with plenty of chairs for lounging & a nice hot tub, too hot outside to use though, but we did enjoy taking a dip in the pool to cool off. The location is not bad, like everyone said, it's in the quiet part of town. It was only a 15 minute walk to the other end, gave us a nice walk while hopping in & out of all the shops along Duval Street. We rented bikes for $10.00 a day, which was so much fun, we rode them everywhere. It's only a few blocks from Duval Beach Club, great food & nice little beach.

I do have one big complain about the hotel staff. Wnen we made our reservation, I was told the rate would be $109 per night & 10% off with our AAA discount. We were told that once we check in, & showed our card, that we would get the discount. We'll when we checked in, the clerk took my card & said that we would get the discount. When we checked out, we were charged $109 per night. I asked about my discount, she said that there is nothing that she can do now, it was a Saturday & the auditor won't be in till Monday. She showed us that they wrote AAA discount on our bill????? She said to call back on Monday & they would take care of it then. Well, when I called, I was told that we got a manager's special rate & AAA was not available for the rate, WHAT? We were never told that at check in or check out..........BEWARE PEOPLE!!!!! She said that we already signed all the paperwork & checked out so thats it!!!!! Don't be fooled by any unadvertised specials --- I did not know we had a manager's rate. I think they just made this up, who knows.

I would of stayed at this hotel again, but because of this issue with the rate, I will not stay there again. We did enjoy the hotel, the staff were all plesent during our stay, no complaints about the hotel at all, just make sure what you are paying upfront & don't be fooled by the call back Monday scam.

We just returned from the Best Western Hibiscus and were very disappointed with the room. The room was very stuffy and there are no windows to open so there is no fresh air. The air condition was either cold or hot. The area by the pool smelled like vomit. We were only there for two nights and I felt very sick there due to smell, hot and cold of room. The bathroom water pressure is non-existent. Only hot water trickled from the shower. The bathroom window had no screen on it so If you opened the bathroom window for air, you were right in the parking lot. I would definately never stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Can't say anything bad about this motel. Room was large, and the motel is located away from all the noise of Duvall but still close enough to walk if you would like. The sevrice from the hotel staff was wonderful. We arrived in KW at noon and they allowed us to check in early with no problems or advance notice. The pool was GREAT!!! Looik foward to staying here again.

Stayed there one night in May 2006. Was the second time we took this hotel. Price was 125 USD plus tax booked via Best Western. Fair price for Key West and for what you get at the hotel. Rooms are huge. They only have two queen beds in each room. They also have a second sink in the room. Pool is huge and lovely. It is indeed very clean. Location is also good. Around 15 minutes to Duval Street if you walk not too slow. Southernmost Point is even closer. You get a continental breakfast for free and it is ok - nothing special. Right now, they have constructions going on. Therefore, the lobby is in a downstairs room and the breakfast is next to this room in a seperate room. You can pick up what you want to eat and go to your room or at the pool to eat there. Please note that we did not hear a single noise from the constructions. At the hotel, you can rent bikes what we did. 10 USD per bike. All in all, a good stay and I would come again...

Location was good if you are a walker. We walked up and down Duval twice a day, generally totalling about 5 miles of walking a day. Nice and quiet. The continental breakfast was substandard compared to others I have had. There were no waffle makers, and no hard boiled eggs. It was all mini, mini, mini donuts, bagels, muffins, carb central. No liquid creamer for the coffee. Coffee from the machine was pretty bad so I ended up making coffee in the room (came out much better) and keeping half and half in the fridge, which was nice to have.

The hours of the continental breakfast (6-9 AM) were clearly designed to save them money, as most that I have seen end at 10 or 10:30 AM.

The pool was very clean, but they could have used a few more tables with shade available. The hot tub was not too hot, which I happened to like. The room was very very large and the presence of an extra sink was really good.

The only complaint was the shower. Pressure was very low and the shower kept alternating between cold-ish and hot, no matter what time of day. This made for an unsatisfying shower. The air conditioner was a bit loud and could have used an update to a digital model in order to maintain a more consistent temperature.
