We loved the Merlin Guesthouse! The staff was wonderful. Very helpful and accomodating.
The room was spotless and adorably decorated. Very charming and cozy. It was smaller than we expected, but you don't spend much time in your room while visiting KW anyway! The only possible "negative" aspect of the room, was that the bathroom door was not solid, it's slatted for ventilation, so if you're shy, you may feel a tad uncomfortable using the "facilities" when someone else is out in the bedroom.
The grounds are beautiful. We loved having coffee on the porch in the morning and using the pool/hot tub at night. Oh, and the sweetest cat lives on-site, so if you're homesick for your pets at home, he is a nice little face to see.
The location couldn't be better. It's a short walk to Duval St., restaurants and a CVS, yet feels miles and miles away from all the craziness!
Parking was a breeze, it took all of 5 minutes. We left the car on the side street next to the hotel and did not need it for the rest of our stay.
I'd highly recommend this property and can't wait to stay there again next time we drive down to Key West!More
