“Fantastic place! Great location, great room.”

We got a king deluxe room (#11) and it was gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and the tub was too. Water was nice and hot and the pressure was great. Towels are of good size. The front desk guy was friendly and very helpful and the grounds were charming. Location was amazing, right around the corner from everything in downtown. Breakfast was decent and all you really need to get started for the day including strong coffee! The bed was amazing! Extremely comfortable and the linens where clean and fresh, plenty of (6) full size pillows to go around. Loved the white leather sofa in the sitting area, perfect place to chill and cool off after trekking through the city for a few hours. All around great place that we will stay at again and again.

Room Tip: Totally worth the 30.00 to upgrade to room with sitting area, rooms 8,9,10,11 are quiet.

We stayed here once again this time for our anniversary. We upped our room from the Economy Queen we were in last year to the Deluxe King. We stayed in unit 14 which had a small porch area facing the pool on the ground level. The room was much larger than our first room we had stayed in. The room had a lower level with a couch, two chairs, a coffee table, a fridge, and a large tv. Two-three steps up into the loft and there was a king size bed with a armoire and two night stands on each side of the bed. The bathroom was pretty small with a shower, sink, and a small area to put your bags. The first trip we spent very little time in our economy queen room and it was perfect for what we needed. This time with my wife being pregnant we spent much more time in our room and the extra space was well worth it! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The grounds are well kept and full of beautiful flowers. Cont breakfast is adequate and served next to the pool on a patio. We would once again highly recommend the Merlin Guesthouse due to its location, adequate rooms, and friendly staff!

Room Tip: Economy Queen = For travelers not intending to stay much in their room(small but nice) Deluxe King...

I traveled to Key West for my son's wedding so family and friends all stayed together at the Merlin Guesthouse. Overall everything met our expections and the office was very accomadating and willing to help us out. I had a great King Size room with a small porch and most all the rooms were suitable for our crowd. The pool was small but it was mostly just a site for everyone to gather and chill out. The continental breakfast was great! Also it is kinda centrally located so it made it easy to walk out and head in every direction to find fun, food, or entertainment.

My sister and I along with our families stayed in cottages at the Merlin Guesthouse the last week in May. My family had cottage 19, the two bedroom cottage and I have to say it was a little disappointing after reading the reviews and looking at online pictures. It was certainly adequate but nothing special. The picture on the website used for the two bedroom cottage is not an accurate picture for either bedroom in this unit, but the description below it is accurate. However, do note that the unit is the handicap accessible one meaning that it is a handicap shower in the bath instead of a bathtub. Aside from this, the quaintness and surrounding grounds were just right and the resident feline, Jordan, is a gem! Location was perfect and close to everything and the bikes we rented were an easy drop off and pickup right at the property. Worth mentioning, like the other reviews...Internet access is spotty at best and not available in the units.

For us it was a disappointment. We expected - because off all the good reviews - much, but we will not stay there again. We have had a Double-Kingsize-Suite. It was ok, but not more. The room was run down. We spend three days and there was a party around the pool every day. With a few exceptions the staff was very unfriendly. I think the Guesthouse is not worth the money. Only the location - close to the Duval - is the money worth. If you like it...

This was such a nice visit. I do advise that you get room 13. Our friends had room 8 and it was very small. No closet. They did have a street view. We however had an awesome room. We had a small porch off of our room that faced the pool. The pool is a small pool. Almost like a huge hot tub. But great for chatting a cooling down. Our room 13 was huge and comfortable. Our bathroom was small but didnt bother us. The people that worked there were all friendly. It was a street over from duval and were able to get to all the main attractions and historical places on foot.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at the Merlin Guesthouse during our trip to Key West! I was very impressed by how intimate this Inn was: quiet, comfortable, friendly, clean, beautiful, etc. It felt like home. Being just a block from Duval and within 10 min walking time from everything, we could not have asked for more! We were thoroughly entertained by the guesthouse cat, Jordan, too!! We will be back :-)
