We booked a "deluxe" king room for 3 nights the end of January. The room was on the second floor of a larger building, sharing a balcony with the room next door. We could hear the noise of the parking lot and US 1 most of the night. The windows were only covered with half of a white curtain set (no shades). However, the material didn't cover the entire window and we were constantly adjusting, trying to get some privacy and shut out some of the parking/road light. When we tried to have coffee on the balcony the next morning, the couple in the room next door was in plain sight. Needless to say, we moved back into our room. I asked to be placed in another room for the rest of our stay, I was rudely told that "simply" wasn't possible.
The bathroom had one glass shelf that was bent and hanging down over the sink. So all our personal items had to be stored on the floor. They really need somewhere to place bathroom items. The 2 towels were cheap and thread-bare. They did provide 2 additional "spa/pool" towels that we used for bathing.
The breakfast of frozen bagels, apples, (really bad) coffee and juice was served by the pool, but not available until 8:30. The pool was a wonderful setting, except when the weather turned cold. But the inadequate/cold breakfast gave us an excuse to go to Blue Heaven and Pepe's for fantastic meals!
Parking was on a first-come basis and there were not enough spots for all the guests. So when we went to Pine Key for the day, we were unable to find parking when we returned at 4pm.
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed. The room also had a small table with two rattan chairs, a painted table for coffee, 2 bed-side tables, and a 3 drawer rattan dresser.
We won't stay here again. For $233 a night, I expected more and have received more at other Key West places.
