Wife and I stayed 3 nights. Very convenient location to attractions in KW. And it has parking. Rooms are small but clean and who needs a spacious room in KW anyway. Lots of tables and outdoor furniture around the pool that is centrally located. Only issue was that our room faced the pool and the blinds did not block the security lights at night. Our bad - didn't know until we checked out that they provide blackout shades for rooms impacted by the lights.

Room Tip: If you have a room facing the pool ask for blackout shades.

The Key Lime Inn gets high marks all around: 1) Great location within walking distance to all of the major Key West sights; 2) clean, nicely appointed rooms; 3) very friendly and helpful staff; 4) great breakfast pastries (and yogurt, cereal, and breads) served poolside; 4) and relationship with a bike rental company that will deliver bikes to you at the hotel. No complaints whatsoever--would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everyday left room at or before 9 came back at 2 room wasn't made up. We were told rooms were cleaned before rooms were serviced a backwards policy. One I've never encountered in 25 years of traveling. Will go back to key west but never to key lime inn

Key Lime Inn is in a great location, 2 blocks off Duvall St and about 10 to the waterfront and Mallory Square. The property has a gravel parking to park your car upon arrival and walk to most sites and restaurants in Key West eliminating the parking problem in Key West. The room was a nice size and includes a small fridge. We had trouble with the flat screen TV the first night and it was promptly replaced with a new flat screen.
The front desk clerks were quite helpful regarding restaurants and directions to the sites, beaches etc. The property is clean and very well kept. There is a nice pool to enjoy after a day of walking around Key West. We would definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 37 just off the pool deck and adjacent to the continental breakfast. There was a s...

On 13 July 2012 I booked online with Historic Inns of Key West a deluxe king room for our trip to Key West in February 2013. My husband and I had looked very carefully at the six inns and decided this was the one we wanted to stay at so I booked it and received a confirmation of the booking.
When we turned up on February 4th for our 3 night stay we were really pleased as we pulled into the car park that it was just how we had imagined it would look. We went into the office where 1 young lady was checking a couple of gentlemen in and the second one named Gabi asked us if we were checking in. We gave her our confirmation and she said 'oh it's you!'. Asking her what she meant she then told us there had been an 'overbooking' and we were staying at their sister property next door. No apology, no explanation, nothing. She then came round from behind the desk and said she would take us next door. We were both so dumbstruck we just followed her! Once inside the Chelsea House she told us that someone would look after us, gave us back our confirmation and went back to the Key Lime Inn!!That's definitely not customer service in my book. I'm afraid Gabi should be sent on a people skills course or moved to another position where she doesn't have to deal with members of the public because she clearly doesn't know how to.
Having taken the reservation 7 months earlier and sent the confirmation to my email address, the least they could have done was email us and tell us there had been a problem but to wait until we turned up, when we had little choice but to stay next door is an absolute disgrace in my book and therefore the rating I give this hotel is a BIG FAT ZERO.

My husband and I stayed at the Key Lime Inn for one night in early December. Really wished we could have stayed longer. We love Key West, and this was a wonderful place to stay, close to all the action, but still in a quieter area. We stayed in cottage #20, which I would highly recommend. It was in the back, tropical setting, nice deck, very quiet. Some of the cottages near the street did not look as inviting, and were smaller, so try to ask for something in the back. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast is okay, enough to get you going in the morning. Arrive early, and parking won't be an issue. Otherwise, you can park in the street. Don't miss out on the desserts at the place down the street called Better than Sex! That's Key West for you! We can't wait to go back, and this is where we'll stay.

Key Lime Inn had everything I was looking for: fair price, great location, clean rooms. My room was a small cottage (emphasis on small) but it was clean and had two fridges and enough space for two people and their luggage to comfortably move around. The pool was nice and the breakfast was a good place to load up on bagels and toast to get the day started. The location is awesome...a 5 minute walk everywhere. Staff was great, very helpful and nonobstrusive. Parking is a bit tight, but there is street parking right outside the entrance. If you have to park on the street, keep an eye out for an open spot and move your car into the lot once a spot opens. Keep in mind that there are two churches across the street, so be prepared to be awoken by bells at 8 AM on Sunday mornings. Also, Key West is known for gypsie chickens, so get ready for morning cock-a-doodle-doos. All in all, I would definitely come back to Key Lime Inn the next time I'm in KW.

Room Tip: If you're looking for peace and quiet, ask for a room at the back of the property away from the...
