“Central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We arrived early for a two night stay and were greeted by friendly hepful staff. Parking is at a premium but we were allowed to park the car without checking in. We noticed that some late arriving guests used the on street parking available on the other side of Truman Street so it is not a huge issue.
There seem to be a number of different room lay outs and sizes in a number of small cottages and buildings. Our larger room was OK but seemed a little short of furniture. There was room for two bedside tables with a lamp but there was only one for example. An extra suitcase stand would have been nice as well. There was a good sized closet and a safe.
The bathroom was OK but did not have emough shelf space around the sink for your stuff. An extra shelf or two attached to the wall would be nice. There is no tub (just a large shower) apparently in all the units. I suspect this is a water saving idea but not too good if one likes a bath. We survived.
There is a lovely pool and deck. The sun disappears behind trees and the next building placing most of the pool in shade earlier than expected so plan sunning accordingly.
There is a great continental breakfast from 8 to 10 every morning and it is pleasant to eat out by the pool. The Inn has a "bed and breakfast" atmosphere and the clientelle were from all over the world so some interesting chats could be had.
The staff are helpful at providing hints for touring Key West. The hotel is about a 20 to 30 minute easy walk to just about any part of Key West with Duval Street 4 minutes away. We never moved the car the entire visit. Many people rent bikes and small skooters or electric golf carts (available a block away) but we made due with walking and the trolly cars. There are several different companies trollies at about $20 a day. The traffic is hectic so be careful.
The Key Lime fulfilled our expectations for a quiet, central location for a brief tour of Key West with reasonable amenities. There are many such hotels that we saw, and several associated with the Key Lime Inn and they are all probably about the same price. The larger chains probably were nicer; more full service but at a higher price and without the atsmosphere.
We would stay here or something similiar again.

Room Tip: The cottages nearer the pool are bigger but the ones near the road might have some trafic noise. We...

The pictures and location were main drivers for us choosing the key lime inn. Pool is nice and gets sun in the morning- it's kept very clean. Rooms are little villas which mostly wrap around the pool or courtyard. Nice continental breakfast each morning 8-10am. Parking lot filled up and we ended up parking in neighborhood and got a ticket. I should have seen the sign :(. Wifi is good. Beds are a little hard and room could use another dresser. The one in the room only had three drawers. Small tv but all the channels. Fridge in room. Nice people nice place. Nothing fancy but great value for area and cute cottage.

Wife and I stayed here for our 30th aniv. We had a big room (#4) but it had only one window that did not open. We had a door to an outside patio with a gravel floor. There was room above us that would likely be awesome. The place was very clean even if the bathroom (shower but no tub) was a little dated.
Pool area was very nice with a heated pool (pleasantly heated, not hot).
Breakfast was typical continental - bagels, ceral, yogurt, etc. the food was fresh and good.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Two blocks off Duvall and easy to get to lots of places. Hotel staff helped us rent bikes which were delivered and picked up at the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this to couples, not so much for kids.

Room Tip: Room above 4 is likely the best.

We just got home from a 6 day trip to Key west with four other couples. Originally we were looking for a house to rent but since our plans were, by relative terms, short on the advance we booked the Key Lime Inn since it could accomodate all 10 of us.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of their staff which helped with the check-in process. Both reps were very friendly and helpful and in a short time we were headed to our rooms. I use the term rooms loosely because we were grouped together in several of their "cottage" style rooms. They were very reminiscent of lake cottages near Lake Erie, but only in size and arrangement. All were very well kept, i.e. paint, cleanliness, etc. Some had minor issues with door alignment but that was the biggest issue and certainly did not impact our stay.

Inside the rooms were very clean smelling and nicely deccorated. King rooms had a love seat, chair along with a closet and obviously a king size bed. Additionally, they had small decks or porches for relaxing before or after a trip up and down Duval St. Our Quenn room didn't have the love seat, but that was not an issue at all. Bed comfort was not bad, we sleep on a memory foam bed at home but we didn't have any complaints. Space in the bathrooms was a little short, but consider that you're in Key West; everything is short on space!

Our AC unit's fan ran all the time which actually helped drown out exterior noise. Being a couple blocks off Duval helped too, but I confess that our group wasn't always ready to end our night when we returned. I don't think we prompted any complaints for noise but I would have understood if we had. <grin>

We have never stayed at the same place twice in Key West in six trips. That will change when we go back because we would absolutely stay here again. Having stayed at several of the name resorts, you just don't get that Key west feel and one of the B&Bs we visited didn't want a group to come to their place. That was disappointing.

Bottom line: great location, great staff, very good accomodations. My favorite so far.

Room Tip: King rooms are a little nicer but not that much. Stay away from the pool area if you are a late slee...

Fantastic welcome with great information provided by the receptionist. Room good & clean, A/C in room could be turned off but external/next door A/C was noisy all night.

Continental breakfast by the pool was good, but you need to get there early to ensure all options available.

First visit to Key West and we loved this place.Located just off Duval St with parking included. Our room was a cabin with our own porch. The pool area was beautiful and very social if you were interested.Staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast around the pool was great. Would stay here again for sure.

Fist visit to that hotel and usually stay elsewhere. It was really quiet and relaxing, the rooms clean and staff very helpful. We had a room by the pool an excellent spot . We ave booked to go back next year.
