“Didn't live up to the review”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Did not live up to the reviews we read before going to the Keys. We have stayed at many of the B&B's and this will not be one we recommend to anyone. Although, the staff was very nice, they were not truthful about their mattresses, which, I asked about before making the reservations as I have a back that is healing. Although advertised as a Superior Room, it was not worth the money. The room or bungalow was clean, but run down. I did not know they were going to be bungalows, it was like staying at a camp grounds. The bed was uncomfortable to sleep on, and the little fridge in the room was on the floor and we had to get on our knees to put anything in it. All in all, I am disappointed in how this place was advertised - I would have gone another way if we knew.

Room Tip: Don't have one.

We returned home just yesterday from a one week stay at this cute little place. It was great, we had a king room with a little porch and table and chairs out front and it was fantastic. I highly recommend the king room if you can afford it. I love the Historic Inns group, because they're a fantastic value on an island full of overpriced resorts. If you like a clean, simple welcoming environment, then this is the place for you. A big plus - essentially every room is its own little cabin, which was awesome! Only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the area around the shower is a bit moldy, but I know that this is really common in Florida, and very difficult to ward off. I highly recommend the Key Lime Inn :)

Room Tip: Nab a king room with the porch - it's worth it!

We stayed at the Key Lime Inn on a very recent vacation. I found it to be a pleasure from reservations all the way through check out. I dealt with Micheall on reservation and found her to be very professional and made me feel like I was already on vacation with her mannerism. She even said "I hope I'm here when you come in, can't wait to meet you". Everyone working at the inn was very pleasant and professional and smiles abound. The two girls that really went out of their ways to make our trip a pleasure were Micheall and Devon. These two girls worked together the entire time we were there and there was no question or recommendation too much for them. I have never stayed anywhere where the mixture of professionalism and personality worked so well to make you feel comfortable .... made PARADISE even better!!

Rooms were very neat little bungalows, very clean and the air conditioner in Rm 34 was good and cold and welcoming when you get back to the room and relax. It was also right off the pool, breakfast area and was perfect (thanks Micheall for recommending that particular room for us)

GREAT PLACE, GREAT STAFF!!! I HIGHLY recommend!

My husband and I stayed at the Key Lime Inn last summer and really enjoyed our stay at this cute Inn. This quiant hotel is a short walk away from all the shops bars etc. on Duval Street but also far enough that we did enjoy a quiet nights rest once we wanted to come back from all the action. The staff was very nice and helpful which is always a plus. The breakfast consisted of juices, coffee, fruit, yogurt, bagels and muffins and was served poolside. It was really nice to wake up after a fun night out, walk to the pool (while possibly encountering a cute little chicken walking around) and enjoy a nice little breakfast by the pool. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there if we came back to key west.

We stayed here just one night on a recent visit to Key West. The hotel was easy to find and initial reception was friendly. Our cabin was a sidewalks width from the very busy Truman Avenue and when we questioned 'would it be noisy' ? we were told not to worry as the air-conditioner would drown it out - it certainly did!. Fortunately the traffic diid subside during the early hours so we did not need to keep the ac running. The cabin itself was pleasant and both the main room and shower room / toilet were clean and well kept. The bed was firm and comfortable and a safety deposit box is provided. St Marys church opposite provides an early morning wake up call with rendition of Big Ben but little heard of the infamous cockerals.
Breakfast in the morning was basic continental style and taken outside around the nice pool area in warm morning sunshine, it was very pleasant.
The hotel advised they did not have enough on site parking for all guests so we should try to keep our spot if possible however they also advised that there was additional unrestricted parking in nearby streets. In the morning we asked if would could leave the car a while after we checked out (until 12:00) but we were told it had to be moved off site as they have early check in's. When we drove back past at 12:00 the car park was virtually empty.
The hotel is in a good location and a short walk from the main areas and Duval Street. Key West is a good place to visit and the Key Lime Hotel is a nice and convenient place to stay.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms adjacent to Truman Avenue

Perfect location for scouting key west -- no more than a 20 minute walk from any part. Quiet and most rooms aren't facing the street so feels nice and secluded. Pool is handy for cooling off.

I stayed here just a couple of nights with my SO and really liked the ambience. We originally booked one night, unsure how long we'd be staying. They were able to keep us in the same room when we ended up staying, and that was great.

The location is great, about equidistant from the boat bight (where there are plenty of dive shops) and Duval, an not too much further from the beach and pier areas on the southwest.

No complaints on the room or breakfast, though I'll agree with others that some local bakery provisions would kick it up a notch. The pool is small but good for a relaxing dip in the evening.

Overall the ambience and location were great - not too far from the party, but close enough that we could join easily when we wanted.

Room Tip: Skip the balcony and go for the cabanas.
