“Gorgeous Key West Style Inn but...”
Reviewed July 13, 2009

Loved it here! We stayed for 3 days and enjoyed the pool, the breakfast, wine hour, and the room itself. We had a full suite, with a king size bed. Everything was perfect, location, except the bed! We were so dissapointed to find the bed as hard as a wooden plank! We suffered 3 nights of a bad back, and if you'd ask would we come back? That would be a yes if they changed the mattress, or at least added a pillow top to it. I find bed reviews are just as important as the room itself. The place is gorgeous, clean, with an amazing pool, but the bed just didn't cut it.

After a horrible night at the Ocean Beach Club in Key Colony Beach, Marathon, FL we
moved on to the Paradise Inn. What a difference - a clean room, quiet and serene
setting and delightful employees. Well worth every penny and I'd love to go back
next year. In the quietest section of Key West just a hop and skip to the downtown.

Paradise Inn now tops my list of favorite all-time places to stay. This little inn was exactly what I was looking for on my Key West vacation. The pool and hot tub are beautifully landscaped. The inn is small and intimate. Our room was very clean, up-to-date and bright. We loved the decks overlooking the pool. You can walk to many places from here or rent a bicycle.

I have stayed in many places in Key West. The Paradise Inn is by far the best. Our room was very clean. The pool was heated and the jacuzzi was perfect. The service was fantastic. Bill and Tippy are very friendly and helpful. They have turn down service in the evening, which is a nice touch. They leave chocolate and a bottle of water for you. Continental breakfast in the morning upfront and wine and cheese in the evening. The grounds are spotles and very tropical. Bed was extremely comfortable. Our room had central air conditioning. I would highly recommend the Paradise Inn.

This is truly paradise. Key West is lovely, but when you get tired of the nightlife, the constant boutique shopping and you need to unwind, this is the place to stay. The tropical surroundings makes you think you are in Hawaii. The grounds are immaculate, not to mention the rooms are absolutely clean and comfortable. The nice thing about this place is that you can park your car and forget about it until you have to leave. You are within walking distance (less than 10 mins) to the main strip (Duval St.). For the limited time that we were there, it was an easy walk from one end of Key West to the other. Although they offer complimentary breakfast, don't expect anything extravagant. Cold cereal, toast, coffee cake, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, tea and juices - but minutes to walk to many nearby restaurants. Swimming pool was like an oasis, and they even had a jug of sweet iced tea sitting in the pool area. Would definitely return back.

We went to Key West to get married on St Patricks Day. I was recommended the Paradise Inn and booked the rooms for 15 friends and family. My wife and I stayed in the Royal Poinciana House with another couple, 2 bedrooms with full baths, livingroom and porch overlooking the pool & hot tub. We also had our own patio that was great for entertaining. The hotel was only a block off Duval. Check in was a little agrivating, took alot of time but once past that the stay was excellent. There is a scooter rental place a block away (same street) and would highly recommend a 24hr rental for around $60, get up early before the traffic gets bad and tour the Island. The Paradise Inn is the place to stay if your looking for a hotel with the Key West feel.

This is our 2nd trip to the Keys - We booked our trip to KW in January with 3 other couples for our trip March 12-15 and we all stayed at the Paradise Inn. My husband and I came in on Thursday and the other couples came in Friday. We had a suite on the 2nd floor (#206) and were nicely surprised when we saw our room. It was perfect - wood floors, white wooden (plastic?) blinds, couch, coffee table, refridgerator and french doors and a window. At the end of the hall way was another window with a vanity and sink outside the bathroom and another sink/tub/toliet in the bathroom. Bedroom was very relaxing with 2 windows, tv in armoir (sp?) and king size bed with nice sheets, coverings and about 7 pillows! Both the bedroom and living rooms had celing fans which was great. We room hopped with our friends and all left our doors open and had a nice breeze as well as table and chairs outside the rooms for relaxing.

Our room was at the top of the stairs facing the pool (which was small but hey its Key West)! It was very pretty pool and it was warm. They have a soda machine and ice machine with bathrooms and shower by the pool. Also a koi pond and a hot tub. in the afternoon they bring ice tea out to poolside which was a nice touch. In the mornings they have a decent contintental breakfast (if your looking for eggs/bacon go buy breakfast somewhere) that hit the spot with fresh juice, coffee, cereal, pastires, waffles, bagels, etc. We parked our car and did not use it until we had to leave (they have free parking which is great in KW!) They also have an electronic gate so unless you have the remote, there were no "unauthorized" cars at the Inn.

The grounds are pretty and it is within within walking distance of Duval St. We rented a scooter (MoPed Hospital on the corner of Simonten and Truman, one block from the hotel) the whole time we were there which I would recomend if your planning on doing some exploring. Our friends didn't rent a scooter and had to drive their car to Smather's Beach but that was not a big deal for them - we just really enjoyed our scooter and saw tons more then if we didn't have one.

The hotel is very accomadating as far as getting rooms next to one another at the last minute - our friends had a suite like ours (#205) and then the other couple had a regular room (#204) and the other couple stayed in a suite like ours with a private patio on the 1st floor so we got to see all the rooms. I personally liked ours the best because of the 2nd bedroom and we really wouldn't have needed the extra patio for our needs. The pool was warm and the hotub was very relaxing - I'm not sure what the hours are ( the sign says 9am - ?) - the 3rd night we were in the pool very late and they asked us to get out which was fine, we just went over to the hot tub for a bit.

There is a rooster that did wake me up (and coincidentally one person from each of the cuoples as well) but that is really the only complaint that I had which is not the hotels problem. The walls ARE a little thin so I may just bring ear plugs on our next trip which we will definately stay at the Paradise Inn. I really enjoyed our stay there and I may go back and revise my initial review on another hotel in Key West because there is no comparison between the two - Paradise Inn blew the other one out of the water. And last thing - they also bring chocolates and bottles of water by your bedstand at night (and if your indulging in some drinks a nice bottle of water is exactly what you need at the end of the night)

Small thoughtful touches and nice rooms and a friendly staff to back up the thoughtful touches make for a great hotel!
