“WONDERFUL Food. GREAT Service.”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

My husband ordered a beef teriyaki sushi meal and I had 2 California Rolls. Both meals were great! He even had some to take home. The service was also wonderful. We loved our experience here. We wish our hotel were closer so we didn't have to walk a mile to get there.

“Decent Thai food overlooking the marina”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

The floating Thai place was closed, so we tried Thai Island. Service was friendly and laid back. Nothing outstanding on the menu. Spring rolls were suspiciously devoid of any meat. Pad Thai was average. The right amount of heat, and not too greasy. Yellow curry dish had more flavor and complexity.
Prices are reasonable and the view is nice.

“Delivery Experience Variable, Food Excellent”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Thai Island courteously and promptly delivered an order of 2 entrees to our somewhat distant hotel room, and the food was excellent.

The next night our order arrived with equal dispatch, but there was a surprise. We'd ordered a bit more than the previous night, and it was all stuffed into one bag - the hot dishes along with the cold ( previously cold) papaya salad.

One of the entree containers had popped open, most likely in transit, and spilled about half the contents of the curry within into the delivery bag, liberally coating the other containers and the inside of the bag with sauce. We discovered this when we opened the bag - it made a stupendous mess in our hotel room, and worse, into an open suitcase next to the table.

Another entree container was stuffed so full - an exceedingly generous portion of stir fry, that it is impossible the container could have been closed. It, too, was open, and while not much of the stir fry had spilled out, it did absorb a lot of the spilled curry and so our stir fry was transformed into a mush of stir-fry-curry.

And the papaya salad had been warmed to an unappealing tepidity by the heat of the entrees.

A call to the restaurant produced sincere expressions of regret and an unquestioning offer of remedy. We declined immediate remedy, since repeating the delivery cycle would have kept us in the room past the time allotted.

Instead, we admonished them to be as generous with delivery bags (simple plastic bags, after all) as they are with portions. The whole fiasco could have been easily avoided by packing this meal in two or three bags instead of one.

“Great Thai iced tea, sashimi, crab rangoons”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Sit inside or out, watch the charter boats come home after a day fishing. Beautiful at night, watch the heat lightening while you eat. Love the curries, sashimi, sushi rolls, rangoons. The veggie dishes are great, and Tom ka soup wonderful. Roger is a great server! Nick is excellent on delivery

“Fantastic Thai food. Curry to die for.”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Chance meeting, we were on the way to a different Thai place, but saw this place first. We were totally happy with our decision to reroute. Fantastic food. Atmosphere doesn't live up to the food, but we were looking for good local food not a fancy place. Although, the outside porch on the water may have elevated that, unfortunately it was raining.

The prices were very reasonable, considering what we have been paying. Hope to stop by for one last meal there before we head home!!!
