Good beach, great history and park. The park is well maintained and the small fee to get in helps keep it that way. I went almost every day the 20 days I was in town.Take the tour of the fort given every day @ noon. Enjoy!

beautiful location with great "beach". for folks used to sandy beaches need to bring water shoes since the coral is tough on your feet. Water was warm but cloudy, if you're used to New England temps. The facilities were a little spotty though....bathroom areas, like a lot of state parks, get lots of traffic and can run out of paper products . that said rent a lounge chair and sit under an umbrella or a pine tree.....really relaxing,

For only $5, we were able to take a beautiful hike through the park and see the fort as it stands today. You can see the different time periods exposed through the brickwork and remodeling. The beach if wonderful too: offering beautiful views and fun swimming / snorkeling opportunities. Just do yourself a favor and bring some water shoes. The beach is full of coral and rock.

We only stopped to look at the beach, did not go in the water. My daughter said the water was cold that day. Key West is not known for it's beaches, but for it's water ways. I hear Smather' s beach is the one to go to if you are looking to go swimming.

cool fort, gorgeous little beach. The water is crystal blue and there are some rock formations on the shore that are really interesting. Our pictures from that part of the trip really look like paradise.
