“Needed to kill time”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

We stopped off at Key West on cruise and weren't there long so needed to kill a little time. This place killed about 30 minutes so mission accomplished. Best thing about it was how seriously "in" their character the workers were. If you have a bunch of time to spend in Key West, maybe save this for last, but otherwise it was enjoyable. The attached photo is from the "tower" they have for the grand finale.

“Interesting”
Reviewed May 8, 2014 via mobile

Like a lot of the other museums on the island, the Shipwreck Museum can be gone through in less than a half hour. The guides are informative and really get into their roles, but it really is very small and easily self-guided.

“Interesting but expensive for a museum "behind glass"”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

The museum is interesting and full of old looking artifacts, "treasure" and shipwreck memorabilia, however the admission is quite expensive for what it is. There are staff members in character in the first part of the museum bringing the story to life, but it did feel as if they were just pointing out the different display cabinets in an olde worlde voice. Most of the artifacts are quite rightly behind glass, but for the cost of admission, I'd expect to be able to interact a little more. Climbing the lookout tower was interesting and is certainly one of the best views in Key West, but again, expensive to do. The museum can be fully covered in around 45 minutes tops.

“Interesting and unusual history worth taking a moment to see”

It's air-conditioned and curated with a lot of love, this place is worth the price of admission. Learned a few things about the area too.

“Interesting museum but a tad expensive”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed the museum, found the guide entertaining and informative. We enjoyed the viewing platform to take in Key West and the cruise ship(s).

It is a little expensive for a 45 minute tour of the museum however so make the most of it if you decide to go.
