“Beautiful but no beach access”

We were looking for a beach access hotel for our week long trip on key west. This resort looked the most promising but I was very disappointed when I realized there was no beach access. I guess I should have looked into it better. Rooms are huge and clean. Bed is amazing. Great place to relax. Pool area is nice too. Bar is expensive and not too friendly but breakfast is delicious. It's quite a ride from downtown and you need transportation to get there. Parking area is very small, maybe 30 cars can fit so you have to use the Walgreens Parking lot. Didn't feel to comfortable leaving the car in an area like that but I had not much choice. At least it was free. Receptionist was very helpful and kind when checking in. Very informative. Quite place, perfect for vacation!

We decided on the Parrot Key for our one night stay in key west. We got a very good deal on room 66B. The room was very spacious with 2 full baths and two bedrooms, it was a tri level suite with room to spread out. The decor was nice and the room was clean. It had 2 balconies, one facing the parking lot and one facing the "garden view." You could see a glimpse of one of the pools from the garden view. The landscaping was lush and tropical and it felt very much like a family friendly tropical resort once you were inside and away from the parking lot, however, the immediate area surrounding the facility felt like regular city living. The problem for me occurred with The hotel streamed music which was supposed to play between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00pm but was still going at 2:45 am which made it difficult for me to sleep. I called the front desk but it was closed. After finally falling asleep I was again awakened by music at 7:44 Am. The manager admitted that it was an honest mistake and comped us a 25.00 credit to the hotel restaurant which was nice but didn't change the fact that I didn't sleep most of the night and had a busy day ahead of me which included a long drive home. I would not stay there again because of that problem.

We stayed here on a two day family trip to Key West. The room was clean and had the tropical feel you want in the Keys. Each room had a front porch and back porch that was so nice for sitting outside. The pools were nice and had plenty of chairs available. The concierge was helpful with tours and recommending local restaurants. Parking is a little tight, but they did have extra next door. Of course we did expect this on an island. Overall very nice stay for our family!

This is my third visit at Parrot Key. I like it because I can get away from the Duval Street area and enjoy the island atmosphere yet I can easily bike to Duval and the beach and the other sites that I enjoy. Construction on North Roosevelt should soon be complete then the location will be pretty much perfect. I also always want a jet ski ride when I am at Key West and Sunset Watersports is located at Parrot Key. You can walk right to the jet ski.

We decided to try some other places rather than our norm in key west so we tried Parrot Key. They were having a summer sale and the rate seemed decent for a one night stay. The room was very pretty and nicely equipped and the resort was pretty but overall - not worth what we paid. There was an almost $30 resort fee, which I am still trying to figure out what the fee was for. There were no services offered whatsoever to warrant the fee. The hotel has four small (mosquito infested) pools. There is no beach or beach area unless you pay for a water front room and the beach area is just some sand in front of the mangroves. The view is pretty though. There is no shuttle up to Duval. Parking - not happy. We got back to the resort after 11 - first - there is nobody working at the resort late at night other than security. (who you have to call if you need something). There was no parking and we had to go park behind the walreens in a public lot and walk back to the resort - needless to say - not pleased with this given the almost $200 per night rate PLUS resort fee. All in all, it was a nice place but I highly doubt we would go back.

Room Tip: Don't bother paying for the "beach front rooms"- not worth it

This place was very tropical feeling and the staff was excellent and accommodating and it is immaculate. The bathrooms at the pool were the cleanest outdoor bathrooms I have ever seen. If it was just a little closer to things it would make it the perfect place to stay there. It was closer to more of an industrial area so when you walk off grounds you lose that quaint Key West feel but just a short cab or scooter ride away is all of the action. Lots to do as well! Cannot wait to return someday!

Room Tip: If you are getting a suite ask for the back of the resort... best views

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon. We had a great time! Very clean resort, with very attentive staff. We will be coming back for sure.

Shelly and Dean at Café Blue were the best part of the trip. They were very personable and wonderful people. Wish the world had more people like them!

Room Tip: Garden view is the best value. There is really no bad rooms here.
