“Resort was great but”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

The Parrot Key Resort was wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about the resort itself, but if you are a smoker the property is non smoking and you have to walk to Walgreens parking lot next door and it was two and a half miles from Duval Street which wouldn't have been that bad except for the construction. The sidewalks are closed and the cab downtown wasn't bad, but all the detours to get back to the room. It became expensive up to $14 down and $20 to get back. This construction is suppose to last two years and they have only been working on this project for 8 months according to the cab drivers. I would recommend staying downtown if you are traveling within the next 18 months or so.

Room Tip: The rooms on the left side of the property have a nice back porch and white sand with some view of t...

My wife and I stayed in a beachfront suite in February and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The room we stayed in was a second floor suite with an second bedroom on a 3rd floor. The view from our bedroom was spectacular and the decor felt very tropical. Once we arrived and parked our car, we had no need of the car for the next 3 days. The front desk arranged for us to have bikes brought to us at $15 per day. We biked to brunch and to dinner each day which was a blast and also a little bit of exercise. Parking is tough is Key West so most people use bikes or scooters anyway.

The pools are quiet and heated. The cabana bar does a poor job at making drinks, so I would take advantage of the fridge in the rooms and bring our own if you want something to drink before going out. They actually serve a very simple but quite good breakfast. With so may terrific dining options in Key West, no need to have any meals at Parrot Key. Two must brunch spots are Blue Heaven and Sarabeth's (both at opposite ends of dining spectrum and awesome).

I will never stay here again. 146 rooms and about 30 parking spots. For a 2 night stay for $900 you shouldn't have to park across the street at Walgreens. When I booked the room they made it clear that there wasn't any smoking on the property. Not a problem, but no one ever told I would be walking me and all my luggage a quarter mile to get to my room. No one ever mentioned there would be a deposit for "incendentals". When I asked what the incidentals were no one could give me an answer. By the way, I paid extra for a waterfront view and believe me the was no water. If there was, I couldn't view it. Upon checkout, when aske about my stay, I addressed all of these things with the staff member at the desk. She simply said that's too bad. Not an apology. Just "that's too bad". For almost $1000 dollars for a 2 night stay i expect more. These rooms are pretty and clean but not worth the money. Stay somewhere else

We stayed five nights in a two bedroom suite. It was perfect for our group of two couples. Our bed was very comfortable. Our room was cleaned everyday, with fresh towels, though it was not cleaned until late in the day. It was odd not having a sink in the "kitchenette". Had to go to one of the bathrooms for water.

We ate at restaurant on the grounds one morning, It was horrible service. We sat down and could not get them to take our order. When we were done eating, we could not get our bill. Our total time for breakfast was probably close to two hours. Luckily, we were not in any hurry that day. We left the grounds every day after that to eat.

The pools are nice, but warm water. From our room, the only scenery you could see was a bunch of trees and plants.

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. The room was large, clean, and very cute. I liked that it was off the main drag. It was near a Publix and a Walgreens, which is helpful when you have a baby with you, like we did. We were able to walk easily to dinners and then take a quick drive to the tourist section. I couldn't have asked for more out of our stay there, really.

Stayed here for a few nights. A deposit is needed upon check in for "incidentals" which doesn't really make sense seeing as they have your credit card on file. Rooms were nice but freezing! We stayed in a two bedroom and there weren't separate climate controls. Parking was RIDICULOUS! The resort is a good size but there is absolutely no parking. Probably parking for 30 cars. Other than that it's about 2 miles from Duval and was a comfortable stay.

If you don't mind being right next door to a Home Depot & Wallgreens on Rt 1 , then this is your place . They tell you that you are "on the water" and actually highlight a pic with sand and beach chairs .... The marvels of good photography !!

-No beach
- No wet bar in the rooms
- The furthest most hotel from everything in Key West

This is NOT a resort folks! They do a great job with there lush landscape hiding you from all the strip malls and stores,( the drive way is actually shared with Wallgreens and some of there parking spots are in Wallgreens parking lot !)

I would definitely not store here again.

Kind regards,

JT
