“Good Food--Slightly Overpriced”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

We stopped to try the conch fritters for lunch. They were wonderfully seasoned and delicious. I also liked the Key Lime pie. We were disappointed by the fried conch strips. They were tender, but were too bland. The meal cost too much for what we received compared to other restaurants in the area.

“Expensive shoe soles & mean owner”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

Stopped in to get conch at the "conch house" expecting to get some great conch. What we got were fritters that were lousy and conch sandwiches that were like trying to chew a flip flop. We sat outside and quickly learned the busy 4 lane Overseas Highway is just steps from the outdoor dining so the noise of roaring motorcycles, 18 wheelers and cars made it an unenjoyable atmosphere to say the least. The kicker was when we voiced our concern to the owner about the conch, she became visibly upset and defensive, telling us that we don't know anything about conch and stopping short of accusing us of trying to get a free meal out of her. Needless to say, we'll never go back. The place is a dump and the owner is a very poor businessperson.

“Underwhelmed & Overpriced!”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

We stopped at this restaurant due to it being featured in an upcoming Food Network episode. However, we found that the prices were steep and the food was fairly bland for the most part, even when we tried their most popular dishes (i.e. conch fritters & Key Lime Mimosa). The kitchen is very small which lead to a lengthy wait on our food and our youngest son sat for 15 minutes waiting on his food after the rest of us were served. There was also limited parking space so if you arrive during a peak period you'll likely be hard pressed to find a parking place.

“Great Breakfast!”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

Well, my husband and I decided to stop at the Conch House for breakfast since it had all those signs hanging in the trees along the highway and we kept driving by. Also, we were tired of the hotel breakfast. So, when we went the the Conch house he ordered the crab cake benedict....seasoned crab cakes atop english muffins with three perfectly poached eggs smothered in hollandais sauce...they were absolutely amazing!! I was so jealous but my breakfast was just as delicious. I had the coconut banana pancakes....two large, fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with sliced bananas and sprinkled with cocnut shreads, served with their homemade grapefruit syrup. Also, the house coffee was great too...I must've had four cups by myself! Loved it!
