“Just average”

I love love love the beach and I just happened to stop by here while I was in the area after getting off a cruise. It is a nice little area, but as others have said, it seems more geared towards those with kids. There is a blocked off lagoon area. There's a playground, grills, pavilions, tables. There is a nice area to walk around. There's an entrance fee on the weekends and holidays.

“Nothing Special but nice”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

They have grills for BBQ and a man made lagoon that is good for children and a nice little walk way around the ocean. Good place to get a tan. No dogs allowed. All Monroe county residence always free if not $5 on weekends and holidays.

“great for kids”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

this would be a great beach for children. If you want to do some serious swimming this is not the place. A little hard to find, could be better marked.

“Great for Small kids and disabled”
Reviewed February 28, 2014

There is a man made protected swimming area that has a paved walking path around the perimeter. Great swimming for kids but also a wonderful way for disabled to get "out" by the water better than almost any other park.

“Better for kids.”
Reviewed February 24, 2014 via mobile

This is a park that's free during the week and is well maintained. There's plenty of picnic tables under shade trees, a fenced off play structure, a public boat launch and a large green space all overlooking the Oceanside. The beach is a man made lagoon that keeps all of the bigger water creatures out, so there's no worries to swim with kids. We frequented this place several times during our stay in Key Largo.
