Nice large, immaculate, well laid out rooms are offered at Rock Reef. Very accommodating staff. This resort offers a bit of everything: privacy for gathering and having a BBQ, a beach, a dock, ornamental paths and the best sunsets. Rooms all seem to have refrigerators, very confortable beds and closet space. Great restaurant across the road that makes to die for meals including deserts. Ask for rooms facing the back of property and beach for views..Just an hour from Miami Airport and 2 hours from Key West. Great for get together's. Our group started with 20 of us to celebrate a 50th birthday, and ended with 6 of us to finish out a girls weekend. We all loved this resort. Couldn't have picked better.

Room Tip: Rooms facing grounds will have views.

We just stayed at Rock Reef Resort, I have to say I did not know what to expect, since this was my first time in Key Largo. Upon check in, we were offered to see our room, I wanted to upgrade to the beach front, that was not a problem, however the room we were given had an ant/water problem, we were immediately moved into another unit that was wonderful. The resort is well used but clean and great! We met wonderful people and saw beautiful sunsets, with great beach front views. This is a true gem and we will return!! The owners and staff could not be nicer !!! True hidden gem!!! So glad we went here!

Room Tip: when arriving ask to see your room, if you are not happy with it, the staff and owners are more than...

If your looking for a place where you can feel welcome, stay here. While working in the area over the holidays I rented one of their cottages for me and my family. With great surprise we were immediately invited to share Christmas dinner with the owners and many of their return guest who have made this an annual affair for their families and for several generations. Great place to do nothing, enjoy the water, lay on their beach, play in the sand, and watch the famous keys sunsets.

Fun for everyone here!

We stayed in the Hibiscus room, which was a second floor room that is described as their most private unit. This room is HUGE. The spaciousness deserves to be noted, but the bathroom was so tiny! The size ratio of the bathroom to the rest of the space was very unbalanced.

There was another room adjacent to this one, with a door separating the two rooms. The guests in that room were talking, and I could hear their conversation much too clearly. This did not feel private at all.

The room felt a bit dingy and dated. The bed was uncomfortable, and both my boyfriend and I had backaches after sleeping on the bed.

A big plus was the private beach. Even though it was a very small area, it was nice it was there. The opportunity to watch the sunset from the property was a highlight.

Thanks for staying with us. Yes the Hibiscus Room is huge – almost intimidating. Guests
often wonder how they can get a room that large (actually two rooms) for such a low price.

The room has two sets of full size French doors plus two large windows so an abundance of light comes into the room. It is a very large bright room.

You stayed with us in January of 2012 and wrote a review nearly a year later, December 2012. In that time span we have had no complaints about the bed (at the time of your stay, the bed was just one year old). We can’t duplicate your bed at home but do our best to please everyone.

Thanks for the review.

My wife Donna & I were overwhelmed with the level of kindness and hospitality we received during our visit to your resort. The Thanksgiving dinner & the opportunity to meet you & your friends, along with the fellow guests...........priceless! Why would we ever stay anywhere else in Key Largo, now that we have found your Reef. Thank you, & Merry Christmas, Blessings, Stephen & Donna

My wife and I went for a three day get away and this was just the kind of place we were looking for. The location is excellent. We rented the family suite even though it was just the two of us because we like a king bed. The room was very clean and both the bedroom and bath were updated. This is not a fancy place but just a nicely kept place with great views from the back of the property and some really pretty tropical plants. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the property more but we try to see as much of the keys as we could. Will definitely put this on the list of places to visit again.

Easily the best place we stayed in our 10 days in the keys. Right on the gulf. Great family owned place with dock. Had beach cottage #9. no road noise despite being close to main drag. Older, but clean and cozy. If you want new with a buch of activities, go somewhere else. Great Keys vibe. Next trip will spend all our time there.

Room Tip: Probaly anything facing away from the road. Two beach cottages best.
