“We enjoyed our lunch”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

My wife and I had lunch here while passing through Key Largo. This is a large seafood restaurant with a huge menu. It was very busy when we were there. The food here was very good and our server was very good as well.

“Good but not great”
Reviewed February 10, 2014 via mobile

Group of 6 ate here feb 8th. Total agreement with Mary f who said female waitress was brusque. Very short and to the point, no tolerance, extremely matter of fact and left us with the feeling that she wanted to get us in and out of there to make room for the next group. One couple left very reduced tip due to this...we couldn't as we felt she was working with another male server and we didn't want to short change him. Margaritas not worth it...had the lobster and it was rubbery around the edges due to overcooking I think...$38 for this. That being said hubby had excellent blackened Mahi ...another couple had house special cooked fish of the day which was topped with olive oil tomato basil concoction and they said it too was good. Ceiling decor is cute with all the lighting hanging on fish nets...floor decor is cramped with chairs and tables a bit too close or real relaxation ..which I feel is part of what you pay for when your bill tops $100 with tip for two.

“Tourist rip off”
Reviewed February 9, 2014 via mobile

We were seated, ordered wine and began to peruse the menu. Close. Very close tables, almost a frantic atmosphere. A waiter came to our table after two minutes and with uppity belligerence began to describe the local seafood offerings, almost ripping menus from our hands in his sales pitch. Then, obviously self-satisfied with his pitch asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a bit of time to decide, he grunted and left. Two minutes later he returned after we had a quick look at the offerings and extremely high prices. We told him we were leaving, got a bill for wine and departed. Very bad experience.

“Doesn't match to the hype”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

Stopped for late lunch... margerita's not done well and my fried shrimp was rubbery. My friends fried oysters about the same. Tables too close together and whole dining room feels cramped.

“Don't bother”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

This restaurant is highly over-rated, probably because it is one of the few full service restaurants in Key Largo. My husband had snapper and I had the seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, fish and clams. The breading on my selection was very odd. It tasted mealy and fell off at the slightest touch. My husband's selection was alright, but certainly nothing spectacular. The Key Lime Pie was average. The service was efficient, but our server certainly did nothing to make us feel welcome - she was pretty brusk. What wasn't average was the price of dinner. Each of us had a mixed drink, dinner, and one piece of shared dessert and the bill came to $110. Frankly, we have had just as good food at Red Lobster with the price being much lower.
