“Worth Taking Card Sound Road - off the beaten path”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

I read about this place before we started our Key West Adventure last Friday. The couple we meet in Miami was A-OK with giving this place a try. The service was great - and the beer very cold. We ordered the seafood platter for (4) and were very pleased with all of the food. Especially the steamed shrimp - so fresh and good. The fried fish was also quite a fav!

Would highly recommend you make this a stop if you are traveling from Miami down to Key West - any time of the day!

“Better road taken”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Before you take hwy.1 to Key Largo take the the left to Card Sound and ultimately to Alabama Jack's. Ruff in appearance but service is great/friendly and the conch fritters are the reason I will go back. Don't be detered by appearance!

“Its a dive but we loved it”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

I have never been here but was told to try it that the bloody marys were great. So we went on our way to Key Largo. I loved it - I mean its not a 5 star fancy place by any means. Its an outdoor dockside restaurant and bar. The Bloody Marys were amazing and cheap!!!
We ordered a sefood platter for 2 - included- peel and eat shrimp, fried shrimp, crab cakes(2), fried fish and their famous conch fritter/cake. This was a good meal - not at all healthy, but so yummy. We will make it a stop on all of our Keys trips!!

“an absolute must go”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

I agree with all the positive reviews, but do want to point out that Alabama Jack's is NOT late night. It closes at 7 PM. Why, you may ask, when it seems so perfect for late night? Because it is entirely open air and located in basically the Everglades or miles of mangrove swampaand waterways, and buggies descend. One point, the staff is unfailingly open and welcoming.

“You have to go just to people watch”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Really wanted to give this 5 stars, the conch fritters were 5 stars and the service was 5 stars but the rest of the food was okay to poor. This is a great stopping place on your way back up from the Keys. It is an eclectic mix of people...there are clogger in crinolines, bikers, sightseers and then the group of wealthy from the nearby private resort island. It is right on the water and rustic as it should be. We had he conch fritters which were amazing. I had the buffalo shrimp which were inedible (we told the waitress and they took half of it off the bill) which was fine because i did try to eat some....they were tiny and rubbery with no buffalo taste. My two friends had fried fish sandwiches which one liked and the other didn't. Overall a fun experience
