The lady that worked there was very knowledgable about the goings on in the Keys. Lots of information there. There are t shirts, postcards and jewelry you can buy. Nice bathrooms as well.

Larry and Karen provided us with very valuable information about the Keys and Key West specifically; plus a lot of coupons. We booked two trips through them, to Dry Tortugas National Park and a sailboat-kayak-snorkel-sunset trip. Both were outstanding! A MUST STOP if you are new to the keys!

Lots of brochures and information.

Lovely lady, very helpful - everything you need, want and expect from a Visitor Centre.

Very friendly staff told us a lot about themselves, about the Keys - and showed off with a lot of knowlegde about our home countries, Iceland and Norway. However, when we asked them to find us rooms for three nights in Key West and one night in Key Largo, we ended up with Bayside at both places. Granted, we had a price limit of about USD 100 (this was during Thanksgiving), and the Bayside at Key West wasn't as bad as the Bayside in Key Largo. We would have liked them to be open about the sad state of Bayside in Key Largo (have written my own impression from there). We did see other hotels in the area that at least seemed way better than the above mentioned. You do get a lot of information there, but my advice is to get online to find hotel rooms before arrival. And perhaps to stay at a hotel in Homestead instead.

Took over an hour to book rooms, lots of blah, blah blah and promises of big bargains, though we ended up getting rooms at much higher prices than we started. We felt worked over like at a car dealership. This is not a public service visitor center, but a business working on commission. As long as you are prepared for this, I am sure they have some good deals, mixed into some good old fashioned film flam.
