“Great dive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

I try to get here whenever I'm in the Keys. It's a great dive and large enough that you could dive it multiple times and never have the same dive. It was cleared as an artificial reef so penetration is not dangerous if you have a little training. Lots of open hatches and clear line of sight to the outside.

“Amazing wreck dive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014

Fantastic 500'+ artificial reef that was prepared for diving prior to sinking. You will need your Advanced Open Water certification (diving depth starts around 70' and the wreck sits in about 140' to the sand). But you can get your certs done while you are there - I highly recommend Silent World in Key Largo where I got mine.

“Brutal currents”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014

Beautiful wreck, great visibility, but the current was brutal. It tore off my mask which I was able to save on the descent but was so bad that I could not completely purge the mask until I reached the wreck and some shelter from the current. It's a great place but it was challenging with the current on this particular day. Regardless of conditions, DON'T GO ON WEEKENDS! It's an armada of boats and divers out there -- we waited for over 20 minutes fully ready to dive in 90 degree heat waiting our turn to get in the water. It's popular and well deserved so avoid the crowd by diving during the week.

“Awesome dive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2014

We were fortunate to go on our own boat so we picked a time when there were no other boats on the wreck. Even if there had been, it was well worth it! It's not as good as the Kittiwake in Grand Cayman, but for Florida diving, it was darned good!
