“Nice, relaxing stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

The rooms are very nice and the views are great. The staff is friendly and responsive. The pool area is beautiful. We took advantage of the volleyboll net and had dinner one night on the beach. Great service. Will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: My room was on the 3rd floor and faced the pool.

We arrived here late at night so the check in was fine, they offered us free breakfast as we were a honeymoon couple which I thought was nice. We stayed in a room with 2 small double beds but unfortunately didn't get a sea room view room. The noise from the highway along with the sound of the air conditioning would wake anyone up, think the air conditioning could do with a serious upgrade. The pool area was the only 4 star for me on this property. We had the complimentary buffet breakfast the next morning, it was ok but not a standard for a 4 star hotel. The price is outrageous, $17 for a buffet breakfast which I thought it was expensive. We dined the Mrs. Mac's Kitchen up the road in Key Largo which was lovely. Key Largo itself is lovely but won't be back to the Mariott Beach Resort

Room Tip: Ask for a sea room view

Booked a room here while driving down from Ft Lauderdale. Online room rate $167. Got to the hotel and for some reason my reservation did not go through. The room rate at the resort was $209. I had taken a screen shot of my reservation page and they gave me the lower rate without having to ask! And, upgraded to a room with a partial ocean view with a large balcony for no extra. Wish the large balcony sliders had screens. The property is beautiful. We only stayed one night but visited the pool which is right on the ocean. They have a beach too. We did sunset at the open air bar, Breezers Tiki Bar. Service was excellent. Got lobster bisk and a small pizza, all was very good. Gus's Grille in the AM for breakfast. Beds were comfy but would get a king next time. The pillows were not that great, small and unsubstantial. Would enjoy staying here again, for a few days next time.

Room Tip: 147 has an ocean view. Two queen beds. Large balcony.

Wonderful hotel but it would be worth it to get a beach view. Also the "double" beds are pretty furniture but sort of high off the ground which may be tricky if you happen to have small children. We spent the next night in Islamorada but I would have just stayed here another night and did the short drive.

Room Tip: We got the "garden view" which was less expensive I think, but ours was actually a view of...

This was our second one night stay.

I love the outdoor area of this hotel. There is a huge pool area, hot tub, large tiki bar, comfortable lounge chairs with and without umbrellas and also a beach front area with hammocks, chairs and thatched roof mini huts to relax in. We spent hours just resting by the pool & beach reading and chatting.

The rooms were clean, but I do agree with many previous posters that it is fairly outdated in decor & there was nothing that said upscale or newly remodeled in the rooms. Basic tile, 80's patterened carpet, standard beach art on the walls. If you are looking for a hip upscale hotel this is not the right place for you. If a nice clean comfortable room works for you, it will be a great stay.

We did get room service. The conch chowder was the worst I had had all week. Basically a vegetable soup. The pizza that is advertised all over the hotel was also disappointing.

I will say that of all the traveling I do, this is the ONLY hotel that is not willing to work with you if you book on priceline. They say priceline bookings get double beds & thats all there is to it. We were not there on a fully booked night and I am quite sure it would not have hurt them to put us in a room with a King. I understand that you take a chance with priceline, but have never had a hotel say NO when there is availability. (we checked their site from the room). Same issue last year but thought it might just be that front desk person.

Beds are extremely comfortable. Rooms were well insulated to keep out neighbor noise, although we did hear the slider open & crash shut every time from the room above us.

We would stay here again based on the pool area alone.

We had a short stay here in April in the middle of an Orlando/theme park holiday for a bit of relaxation and found the hotel to be overall clean, fresh and perfectly adequate. We had an oceanfront room which had a spacious balcony and big comfy beds (although really high off of the floor). The resort has a nice pool area and lovely but small beach with plenty of sun loungers and chairs. You can rent jet skis, kayaks etc on site and there are 2 bars and a restaurant which were all nice with friendly, helpful staff. Would stay again if we went back to the keys.
