Stayed in this hotel May 2013. Not imposing from the outside, but inside we found a medium-sized hotel (comprising a few two-storey buidlings) with attractive, well maintained tropical landscaping. Buidlings were centered around two pools and a jacuzzi. Although the hotel was located off the Overseas Highway (as most of the hotels are in Key Largo), the waterfall feature in the pool masked the highway noise nicely.
The staff (at front desk, cleaning/garden maintenance) were very friendly and helpful. When we were late for breakfast the first morning (which TA writers warned not to have anyway), one of the staff directed us to "Doc's Diner" across the street frequented by locals - and it was terrific! Also got recommendations (and a 10% discount card from the front desk) for the Fish House
This is not a luxo hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but a good place to stay for people looking to relax. By the way,I had no problem getting a late check out -- they were very accommodating.
One note -- I was very surprised by how expensive hotels in Key Largo were. This is not a cheap place, but is affordable compared with others of similar quality in the area. Got it via PricelineMore
