Owner description: This half-mile-long, crescent-shaped patch reef is an interesting dive site since it is highly developed and similar to those of most outer bank reefs in the Key Largo area.

Taken there by the snorkeling company when the Pennekamp folks shut down due to poor visibility. While the gray day did not help, we had a super dive over the reef and saw lots of amazing coral, beautiful fish and some very good size barracuda. Would definitely return here

The snorkeling here is pretty good. It is a short boat ride from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and you can book the trip directly from the Park. However, check the conditions before you go. This year there seem to be extra jellyfish.

We visited this attraction on June 14. Our snorkel tour brought us to Grecian Rocks and we weren't disappointed! We were here from 3 to 4:30 which was nice because we didn't need to be as concerned about sun screen and by late afternoon, the fish were feeding in the reef as though they hadn't eaten in hours. We saw many varieties of coral including brain, fan, and antler. We could see and hear the parrot fish nibbling away at the coral to eat the algae attached. Live conch shells littered the reef floor and schools of smaller fish swam around us. The water was so clear and the vibrant colors of the fish and the corals left us feeling so fortunate to be visitors in this unique ecosystem.
This was the first time our teenaged sons had snorkeled and the spot was perfect for beginners.

Grecian Rock is my favorite reef for snorkeling. We come there on our own boat so I can't comment on any of the operators running trips to the reef. If you have your own boat get there early in the morning before the crowds!! The reef is very shallow and the coral may even be out of the water at low tide. I've seen all kind of fish and sea creatures there including sharks, turtles, rays and an abundance of reef fish.

Been here twice, lots of grass, seen lots of tropicals. Out of all the places I snorkeled this wasn't my favorite but it was OK. Don't go in late summer, water is greenish from algae around the rocks and there was lots of jellyfish in august, but not so much in june.
