Hilton Key Largo Resort
Ranked #14 of 20 Hotels in Key Largo
Reviewed May 9, 2010

Had a fantastic stay at the Hilton Grand Resort in Key Largo. First, the rooms very reasonably priced-- $125/night for a suite that included a fridge, 2nd TV and living room area. The bedding was luxurious and rooms were clean and new. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Loved the adult's only pool, the beach front area, nature walk, and quiet areas along the water to sit and watch the sunsets. Ate dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the water. The food was terrific. The only problems we experienced was a 2 hour delay checking in because there was a computer problem -- for which they waived the $12/night parking fee for the whole week. The water pressure in the shower was not that great and the tub didn't drain well. As for the amenitites, the kayak, boat and bike rentals at the hotel were really expensive so you are better off renting that stuff in town or at the state parks. I would definitely return to this hotel.

A wonderful visit each time I'm a guest. A terrific restaurant, great views, comfortable rooms and soothing public spaces. Could not recommend more.

The rooms were nice but cost of room expensive.
No breakfast included in price, not even coffee in lobby.
No newspaper in morning.
Extra charge per day to park your car.
Absolutely no cell phone activity in area at all.
Wood decking on beach side badly rotting and unsafe.
Breakfast served in restaurant area expensive and cold, you're better off going out somewhere.
Overall I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Stayed here for three nights for a girls weekend with two goals: R&R and sun. I was a little nervous about this property since the reviews swing so widely here, and have to say we were very pleasantly surprised.

We had an ocean (or bay) view room on the 4th floor. The views were spectacular! The room was relatively large--two double beds, good size bathroom area (large vanity) etc. This wasn't a five star property and it definitely is older and could use a little updating, but for the price we really thought it was well worth it.

We enjoyed dinner the first night in the restaurant. Service there was definitely spotty, but the food was surprisingly good. Spent the next day on the beach and really enjoyed it. Yes, it's a small beach area, but we didn't have any problem getting lounge chairs and you just can't beat a day staring at the amazing blue water while sipping a mai tai.

The room was extremely clean and we had no problem getting extra towels, robes, etc.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to a friend...even though I agree that the $12 parking charge is a bit of a rip off.

This hotel has a prime setting with beautiful ocean views - that is it! The rooms were very grubby. Apart from the lady at the reception who was very positive the rest of the staff were surly (maybe their drab uniforms did not help). The hotel could do with major refurbishment.

I stumbled on the hotel through the first (and "unofficial") Tourist Information center coming into Key Largo. The person was able to get a very good rate ($115), which matches what they offered online. The room was on the backside of the hotel, so there was the highway traffic noise and a noisy air conditioner that had to be tolerated. But the room itself, as well as the hotel, was a very nice: a good gym, very nice beaches & swimming pool -- overall a good find....

We stayed here from Sunday March 28th thru Friday April 2nd, 2010. We booked the room 2 months in advance. After reading some negative reviews on this site, we made several calls to the resort during the course of that two months just to reconfirm reservations. All was well until we were driving down (from Michigan) We decided to make one more call saying we would be arriving in just a few hours. To our amazement, the front desk clerk informed my husband that our adjoining room had been overbooked by mistake. It would not be available to us for the first night! We had booked this adjoining room for our children. This was not acceptable to us. They apologized and gave us a free drink ticket, and waived the $12.00 per day parking fee. Big deal! Next, we got settled into our room, and went to the beach area. We had been traveling for 27 hours at this point so it felt good to relax. My sister in law and i went to the tiki bar on the beach for a fruity drink. The bartender at the tiki bar Jesse could not have been more RUDE to both of us. He acted very put out by our drink order. When I asked him what type of beer he had (i was going to bring one to my husband) He turned toward the selection and with his back to me said "whatever kind you see here!" Strike two...The third strike was that our room was not very clean. Water stains on the ceiling, the faucet on the whirlpool tub had rusted through and was hanging. We had to call the front desk for more toilet tissue, coffee, and tissues when clearly housekeeping could see we were out. We were on the fourth floor water view grand suite with an adjoining room. Do not stay here. The Key Largo Marriot is a much better choice. We have stayed there before, clean rooms and excellent service there. To their credit the manager did credit our account 125.00 upon checkout, but compared to the total cost of the rooms, it wasn't much of a reimbursement. We have never complained about service before, but for the money, you would expect better service. I just felt compelled to post a warning.
