Attended a business conference at this location and was able to enjoy many of the amenities offered. The helpful staff made access to the local area even easier whether is was Fishing, Dining or SCUBA they had a handle on it all!

We are Gold Hilton Honors members, as well as Elite Hilton Grand Vacation Owners. This property is absolutely not Hilton worthy! I have personally killed several bugs and have found a worm slithering around on our carpet. I could almost understand it if we were on the first floor, but we are on the third. The room and hotel feels dirty. The shower was gross. We called 2 times to have the shower floor cleaned and it didn't help. Every time we showered we needed to put a towel on the shower floor. In 30 years of going to hotels as an adult, I have never experienced this at a Hilton. We got a suite and it was old and in need of a major makeover, from the bathrooms, carpet, to the furniture. Painting old furniture does not constitute "Newley remodeled"! My adult son was on the pullout couch and it was not at all comfortable. Never again. The gym is outdated, restaurant was disgusting. Everything about this place is terrible.

Room Tip: Do not waste your money.

Dear Foodie2night,
We are disappointed to hear of your experience at our hotel and appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. The problems you mentioned were brought to the attention of our housekeeping department and have been addressed. While the lack of service you experienced is unusual and not the standard of our hotel, there is no excuse for it. We are sorry for the inconvenience and annoyance this incident caused.

Sincerely,

I am a frequent traveler. I checked trip advisor before booking this property. The reviews were mixed. Some loved it & some hated it. I can now see why. We were there for 2 nights in a jr suite (overlooking the parking lot!). The rooms were clean with the exception of the mold in the bathroom when you looked up in the shower. Gross.

The property was great. My daughter loved going on the hunt around the property which educated her about native plants & animals in the area- & which she got free colored wrist bands.
We loved sitting outside by the ocean where there were shaded and sunny spots as well as hammocks everywhere. That part was so peaceful. I was constantly seeing employees cleaning up the property and trying to maintain cleanliness. The food was ok - typical hotel fare. Weird to have the pool on the other side of the parking lot (where you could hear all of the traffic). The gym was pretty large with good equipment.

I would go back but for another short trip. Too long there- the charm would wear off. I would hope they continue to update the property.

Room Tip: Try and get ocean front. Or on the highest floor to have a view.

Stayed with my husband and our two boys aged 8 and 6 for three nights on our travels down the keys.
Had a lovely stay, room was clean although the patio furniture could do with updating.
Pool area was great and the pool bar and food was also very good.
Activities were on for the children which they really enjoyed.
We had a lovely eal at tree tops restaurant whic was reasonable too.

All in all we had a lovely reading time in ey Argo we didn't do a lot other than enjoyed the beautiful peaceful surrounding but that was what we came for. The sunsets were the best we have seen.
Hope to return one day and stay a little longer defiantly my favourite in the keys.

Room Tip: Try to get an ocean view room worth the extra!

Our stay was very satisfying. Great view of the beach! Sunsets from 4th Floor room were marvelous! Great for family retreats! Plenty of space in the Suite! Great area to snorkel and hotel provided plenty of options for paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.

As much as I'm the cup half full type, I just wouldn't know where to start with trying to be positive about this property. And trust me, we're not "high maintenance" at all. We're easy going and easy to please.

Decent location, and certainly has it's share of scenic beauty, but it's all downhill from there.

First off, whatever room they say you'll get, you'd better triple check that. Our "ocean front room", ended up being a handicap room facing the parking lot. With 3 adults, it just didn't work (nothing against the handicapped, but the room isn't functional for those that aren't). Second, it was a 2 room "suite" with a queen sleeper sofa. We pulled the sofa out, and it was nothing more than a mattress pad. Our adult son ended up having to sleep on it like a regular sofa. As you can imagine, lots of sleepless/uncomfortable nights. The front desks response to this? The guy actually said, "yeah, most of the sleeper sofas need new matresses". Really? How very nice! Totally ambivalent about the whole thing. In a nutshell, whatever the room description? Isn't neccesarily what you'll get, nor do they apparently care. You paid for one thing, they'll happily give you something else. No apologies.
The food? Here's where it really gets interesting. We became casually freindly with one of the hotels staff (name omitted for obvious reasons). He straight up told us, DO NOT EAT THE HOTEL FOOD. Go anywhere but the Hilton. So for the most part we heeded his advice (BTW, try "Snappers", or the "Lorelie" when in the area), but for one dinner and one breakfast we ate at the hotel. LOL.....the employee warned us so we have no room to complain I guess. Absolutely nasty!! And to think we ordered simple dishes (I had a chicken salad). Just gross, and almost inedible. How you can screw up a chicken salad is beyond me, but the Hilton certainly managed.

The staff? One bright note was the cleaning staff. Very freindly and helpful. Otherwise staff was poorly trained, rude, unhelpful, and once again, ambivalent. Even the girl in the gift shop. Yes the gift shop of all places. I saw a shirt I liked, and asked her if they had it in my size. She said "no". And thats it. Just "no". And went back to staring out the window (or whatever she was doing). Uh....how about, "I'm so sorry, I don't think we do, but we should have some more in by tomorrow" or anything that would indicate she had any interest in my request. Sounds like a petty complaint, but thats the way everyone was. Like poorly mannered zombies just trying to get their 8 hours in and go home. This went on right up our last day. We asked the front desk if there was a local bakery we could get some fresh muffins or maybe a breakfast sandwich. After my question plainly blew her mind (she placed us on hold for 10 minutes I assume to ask someone else), she came back on with her recomendation. Gave us the mile marker/address and everything. Uh.........the place literally did not exist. Thinking maybe it was just us, we even drove around for 20 minutes looking for it. Nope, no such place. We finally asked a local where it was and they confirmed there is/was no such place in Key Largo.
I could go on for pages. Just put the place in your rear view mirror I guess. It's like the property has a curse. Everwhere else we went in the Keys was great, but as soon as we got back to the hotel, something else would happen to dampen our trip or create a negative impression. I guess if you're just looking for a place to crash and go elsewhere for food/services, the Hilton will work. If you're looking the full resort "experience" please go elsewhere. Too many other nice properties around (We stayed at the Marriot last time. Great property).

We stayed at the Hilton Key Largo mid-July 2013 for three nights. We did not want to leave, wishing we had booked a longer trip. Everything was wonderful...pool, beach, activities, restaurants, and staff. It will always hold a special place in our heart, as our daughter got engaged on the second night of our stay! We came home planning our next trip back, cannot wait!!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the beach side of the hotel, first floor. Perfect access to the beach. No problem...
