Looking at online reviews and prices for a stay in the Keys, I was getting pretty scared! Prices were higher than I'd thought and a lot of the reviews and online photos of other hotels looked really sketchy. I kept reading suggestions to try the Hampton Inn but the travel sites showed it booked. I decided to go to their website directly and was delighted to find they had rooms available! We had a great room with nice king size bed and a couch, patio door out to the decent pool and cute little private beach area. The room was very clean (including the kind of duvet that can be washed each time which I love) and for the most part quiet. The Keys are more expensive than a lot of other places but this Hampton Inn stacked up really well to the other hotels in the same price range. Some of the others looked downright scary online and when we drove by them, I was so relieved we booked at Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: Look at their website even if the travel sites say it is booked.

Great place to stay, very clean, good breakfast, free wifi, computers in the lobby (big plus), the only one thing is the pool is not very small children friendly. The beach area is nice, beautiful sunset.Other than that I truly enjoyed myself.

Now this is value for money. Staff are very pleasant, helpful, efficient. Beach, small as it is, is really cute and restful. Pool is just large enough to enjoy swimming in. Rooms are large and quiet. Breakfast is plentiful and very good with a large variety of offerings and plenty of space for people to find a table/eat at the bar/eat outside. No wonder there are so many good reviews. There are not really water view rooms, and a lot of parking lot views, but the value for money makes this a find nonetheless. Keep it up, Hampton!

Room Tip: Pool-view rooms have nice view of small canal and foliage past the pool, if you don't mind expos...

Friendly staff, clean room.
It appears to be an old motel, rehabbed, the rooms are small. Overpriced for what you get.
Not up to Hampton Inn standards in my opinion.

There appear to be a couple of rooms with a beach view and several with pool views. Otherwise,
it's a parking lot view.

We spent one night at the Hampton Inn so as to break up the drive from Key West to Miami. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The clerks at the front desk, Chandra and Paul, were very warm and welcoming; made us feel at home. They were very knowledgeable about the area, gladly answered all our questions; and in no time we were settled in. Our room, #127, was fairly large, and very comfortable and clean. Our rate was $225 for the night of March 5, 2013; perhaps a bit high.

The breakfast buffet (included) was very nice with a decent selection.

The location is pretty good; unfortunately not much is in walking distance, but restaurants and stores are only a short drive away.

We did not have time to use the swimming pool or fitness center, so can't comment on that; but the pool area looked attractive.

Our only complaint is that it is difficult to find the entrance to the Hotel in the dark; the sign is easy to miss from the road.

We would stay there again if we are in the area.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel mid March 2013 for a couple nights. The hotel is close to John Pennekamp state park and has a publix / k-mart near by. The staff were friendly and gave us coupons for a couple resstaurants on the water. The hotel is clean with nice landscaping and private beach area for relaxing by the water to enjoy the sunset. Theres also a nice heated pool!

A few things we didnt like were :
- the beds were a little hard for our liking.
- the shower couldn't be turned on without stepping completely in (which meant freezing cold water at first)
- no bath tub.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the back! Closer to the water.

We are getting married in the Keys later this year and needed somewhere reasonable to stay for our one night trip. All the other hotels in the area were over $300/night for nothing special. I'm not sure if the property itself is new or just re-modeled, but either way it's one of the nicer places we have stayed at in the upper Keys. The grounds of the hotel and rooms are kept very clean and the staff was super friendly. It has a very tropical decor and you really feel like you are on vacation when you walk around. A lot of the other properties in the Keys are dated so it was refreshing to stay somewhere a little more modern.

When we first walked down to the beach we saw two manatees swimming around in the water. The beach area itself is a good size and has palm trees everywhere. There is bar located between the pool and the beach which is a neat thatched roof, a good place to relax and have cocktails. The bartender has a gorgeous parrot named Mango that will come sit on your shoulder.

The room was spacious and clean with a fridge and a wet bar. There was a little patio that overlooked the pool/bar area. The rooms on the other side of the hall had patios that opened up to the parking lot, so if you stay here get a north facing room for a better view.

We would stay here again, great value

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks pool or beach otherwise your view will be a parking lot
