This review is for the Glass bottom boat tour, which we never took, despite having reservations. We called on our last day of vacation and explained that we were driving from an hour away and would be there 45 minutes before the tour. The woman on the phone was extremely rude. I should have been suspicious when she did not take our credit card number and rushed to end the conversation. At the end of the call, I asked whether we had a reservation, and she said that we did.
Upon arrival, and after paying the entry fee for the park, we were told that the tour was first-come-first served and that the boat was full. We were told that we should have arrived an hour and a half before the tour DESPITE HAVING RESERVATIONS. Since there is not much to do in the park during the off season, I can only assume that they wanted us to spend money in the gift shop while we were waiting.
This place needs to get its act together and do what every other attraction on the planet does--take credit card numbers during the reservation process and then honor the reservation. The current system is frustrating, and it is unethical to hold people hostage for an hour and a half waiting for a tour and hoping they will spend more money. There is one thing you can count on here--the staff will be rude.
