Time was when this was one of the go to restaurants on the Key when a booking was essential. Those days are gone and it's possible to secure a table in the evening on spec. In fact, there were a maximum of four occupied tables plus the occasional take out order. The lack of trade might account for the inflated drinks prices. Here wine by the glass will set you back $11.95 whilst not far away you could pay $9 a glass for a better quality wine. The decor is tired and could benefit from a refresh.
The staff are efficient. Our drinks and food were delivered with a minimum of delay.
The soup was very average and over the years has lost its previous 'wow' factor.
I can highly recommend the duck which was crispy and tasty and was served with a delicious sauce. Likewise, the rice. There was a mountain of food which, based on past experience, we shared, and even then felt well sated.
I hope the restaurant tries to halt its decline and recreate some of the wow factor that seems to have been lost.
