Description: You haven't seen Miami until you've seen it from The Rusty Pelican Restaurant and Special Events Center. The Rusty Pelican is the most sought after restaurant with a view in South Florida. With the sun setting on Biscayne Bay against the backdrop of the alluring Miami skyline, The Rusty Pelican is the perfect spot for a romantic interlude or that special occasion. Located in Florida on the Island of Key Biscayne and just minutes away from Interstate-95. The Rusty Pelican has a breathtaking view of the City of Miami while offering superb cuisine and service. The fresh seafood changes with the season, deliciously enhanced with island-influenced salsas and flavors.

Food - 4/5 Lobster bisque tastes and VERY pricey. We ordered 16oz bone in ribeye, side garlic mashed potatoes, side wild mushroom and onions. A little pricey particularly when you have to purchase side dishes. Beware when ordering $3.00 per oyster...2/6 were good sized, 2 average sized, 2 very tiny. We had to address this with the waiter. No attention to the quality.

Location and View - 5/5. Incredible views of Miami...sit outside if warm otherwise reserve a window table

Service - 2/5. Very disorganized for a Monday evening with multiple waiters and no one takes responsibility.
First waiter brought first round of drinks and took 10 minutes. Once he brought them, we asked to see the wine list. He never returned and was nowhere seen in the restaurant. We waited 20 minutes before we got up and asked someone who our waiter was. The manager (?) apologized and got Grant to take our order and did a great job. Unfortunately he was seemed to be spread thin. Food service was divided amongst too many servers with no attention to detail, ie: salt, pepper, soup spoon, etc. There was no connection between server and clients.

I'm writing this review while we wait for the incompetent staff to attend to our table. It's too bad because the scenery is great and the food is awesome.

I love the Rusty Pelican and have been dining there for more than 30 years. When I am in the Miami area it is always my favorite place to go. It brings back wonderful memories. The food is always amazing and the service is wonderful. My daughter is at UM and it has now become her favorite place also.
