Millions spent on remodeling really shows. Fantastic views of Miami and the food was beyond expectations for this type venue.

Had the whole fish that was de-boned at the table and it was properly done as well as very tasty. We eat fish all the time in Florida and Mass so have some reference points.

To much money for the food is not worth it. I prefer to eat at bk. The food didnt taste good. The view perfect. The wine list really good. The service not that good. The food took like 30 min to come out and it came wrong.

We got to the restaurant and the hostess recommended we wait for a table at the window. Which was well worth the wait. The staff was so helpful in every way, besides recommending us to wait they put on the fireplaces outside for us to sit outside and take pictures . They have a totally uninstructed view of the Miami skyline. Every dish ordered was delicious from the sushi appetizers to the entrees including fish and beef. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Key Biscayne.

Our Rusty Pelican experience was fine. Nothing great but nothing really terrible either. We dined there with another couple the first week in March. Our friend called the restaurant for reservations and twice no one answered during normal business hours. The calls were transferred to voice mail where he left the purpose of his call and his call back number. No one ever called him back so he had to call a third time and finally reached someone. He placed the reservation and asked for a table with a view but was told all tables were first come, first serve. When we arrived at the restaurant, several tables were open by the waterfront skyline view, yet they directed us to a dinky table shoved in a corner by a stairway. So he asked for one of the tables by the window but was told those weren't available. They did move us to a better booth. The tables by the window were ultimately shoved together for a large party that arrived long after we did.

The food was fine. Nothing remarkable or memorable, but certainly not bad. I had the toothfish with sweet plantain mash. As I said, nothing memorable - I had to look the menu up online to remember what I had and now that I see the price again I can say it wasn't a fabulous $36 entree. The service was fine and nice wine suggestion made. The manager dropped by to see how everything was so our friend shared with him the difficulty he encountered in trying to place the reservation. The manager was very professional and apologetic and left us his card.

The view of the Miami skyline is gorgeous and definitely worth a trip to the restaurant just to experience the view. There is a nice outdoor area that wraps around the restaurant on the waterfront side. It was the perfect spot for some nice photographs.

All in all it was a pleasant evening out on our last night on Key Biscayne. Nothing really special but nothing objectional either. Our food really didn't live up to the price tag, but you're paying for location.

TIP: We dined with another couple and asked for the bill to be split in half. It was split into two bills and suggested tips were preprinted at the bottom of each bill. The two parties that were paying were in the middle of a conversation, glanced at the bill and included the suggested tips at payment. Only later did they realize that the suggested tip amount on each separate bill actually covered the entirety of both bills, not just their respective half. So the combined tip paid was actually double the amount of what would normally be left. It was our fault for just reviewing the charges but not doing a mental calculation of the tip. An expensive lesson to share with others!

The Rusty Pelican has recently been renovated. Th entrance has been changed nor heave added additional entertain, net space. However the view has not been altered, which is so fantastic.

Sitting by he bar area, or at a window seat is always awesome as the view across the bay remains spectacular.

Now to the menu, that has been improved and the choices are great, fish, lamb shank to name a few.

Desserts are also nice and always a nice touch at the end of a meal.

I went with friends and a fine time was had by all with promise of return visits

It was a bit on the pricey side, but worth the trip
