I would not come here with children unless they want to eat off the regular menu. They will charge full price even if it is just a plain bowl of spaghetti with a pat of butter and some parmesan cheese.
Vito was insulted that I thought a bowl of pasta with a splash of butter and cheese was overpriced at $15.50. I could see paying $10.00 but maybe he used special skills to remove boiling pasta from a pot. I would think more effort goes into lasagna or one of their specialty dishes but apparently pulling boiling pasta out of the pot takes him the same effort. He said butter was more expensive than tomatoes. Who knew!
I also thought it was odd that they told me to talk to Vito in the kitchen amid all the pots and dishes he was preparing. It is a very small restaurant so be prepared to make a "scene" as there is really no privacy if you want to discuss something quietly as he speaks loudly because there is a lot going on in the kitchen. In fact in retrospect I should have paid the bill and left. He was quite insulted.
