First, for those who haven't been there, Key Biscayne is no South Beach. If you are expecting raucous nightlife, go elsewhere (like SoBe!). What I love about KB is that its a laid-back island that is easily accessible to all that Miami has to offer. And, if you can afford it, the RC-KB is the only place to stay on the Island. Service, service, service -- from the offer of bottle water or a glass of champagne on arrival (always pick the bubbly) to the front desk clerk walking you to the elevator, you know right away its a special place. I wouldn't say rooms are over the top but they are large are well-appointed. Same with respect to the common areas. It's not glitzy; but it is appropriate for the KB vibe. In addition to the service, the other strength of this resort is the beach of course. But what RC-KB does that other hotels some times miss is taking advantage of it with excellent outdoor restaurants and bars. Loved it. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Upper floor; Island view unless you really, really need an ocean view -- than pop for the upgrade.

The first thing that strikes you is that the door men greet you with fruit infused water, fruit or champagne when you are checking in. They are incredibly friendly and remember names. Especially Mario! You can rent a car on the property or there are always taxis hanging around. Key Biscayne is a lovely little oasis and it's very safe. The residents drive round in golf carts. Back to the Ritz Carlton, their staff are friendly and polite and always happy to help. The hotel has several restaurants on site and two pools. A family pool and an adult only pool. There is direct access to the beach and it's usually nice and quiet. The suite we were in had a lovely view of the Atlantic and it was so calm and beautiful. The cleaning staff were efficient and polite. There are lots of activities for children on site. But there is a long drive into the city. But I believe it is worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

Great location. Wonderful facilities. Tennis clinic is first class and tennis pros are excellent. Good for kids. Wonderful spa. Great restaurants on site and many good restaurants that are walkable just outside the resort.

My wife and I flew into Miami to escape the cold, wet weather in Atlanta just for a night. We decided to stay at the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne. The primary reason I selected this property was because they advertised "All rooms have balconies" on their website. This was exactly what we needed...a quick get away in warm climate enjoying the warm weather on our balcony.

We got to our room and I immediately approached the "balcony" when I discovered it was nothing more than an 8 inch slab that Barbie and Ken would struggle with enjoying. We were very disappointed.

Two other minor issues that occurred which were rectified by the staff:
1) I ordered a shrimp cocktail and asked them to hold the guacamole. The shrimp was served stuffed in guacamole.
2) My bill included a $114 restaurant charge for a restaurant we never even went to.

This is a nice property and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful but remember before you book here that not "All rooms have balconies" as advertised.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask how big the balcony is. Some rooms have a tiny 8" slab that they claim is a balcony

Spent a night this Christmas holiday staying at this property. What stood out was the service staff, who were all very friendly. While a very nice property some wear and tear were a bit evident but nothing over the top. A nice bar and food and beverage operations were also very nice. I'd recommend staying although would not say this is one of the very top places I've stayed over the years.
