The location is great and the hotel looks very grand from the outside, but we were quickly disappointed. We were barely able to get a night's sleep because of various things happening in quick sequence of all at once. The walls and ceiling were very thin, so we could hear people walking upstairs starting at 7am. This was no fault of the hotel, of course. Combine that with children running screaming in the hallways at 8am (again, no fault of the hotel) and top that with the housekeeping staff having long and loud conversations outside our door while vacuuming starting at 8am. They also forgot to give us a do not disturn sign for our door, so we had staff knocking on our door on three different occasions until they could get us a sign. They needed to count the mini bar, but we had just checked-in late the night before, so why hadn't they done it prior to that?
The only restaurant open was the Mexican one, and it was nothing you could not have gotten at Chipotle or Chili's. I was expecting something more innovative since it's the Ritz, but not at all.
The staff we did encounter were very courteous and impeccably dressed.
All in all, we had a mediocre stay and do not think the splurge is worth it if we are going to get the same quality of sleep as at a Motel 6.More
