Showers etc to clean yourself after you've been on the beach - wouldn't happen in the UK. Safe on the beach by the pier.

The beach was wide and had really nice facllities. I was here for a race so someone else's experience will be different.
As of 2013, the beach has eroded a lot and they didn't restore it. The water is clear and there is plenty of parking and there are picnic areas with bbqs before you go down to the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach so there is usually a lot of dogs running around and in the water. There is also a cute little restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch that serves great french toast for breakfast only.
Great casual place to have lunch. Food is excellent. The dolphin is always an excellent choice. The chicken salad is very good as well. Portions are huge.
Whether you want to sit on the sand and dip your toes in the ocean or you're having a birthday bar-b-que under one of the many pavilions you won't regret a day spent at Carlin Park. Plenty of parking at this park that spans both sides of A1A, there are pavilions on both sides and playgrounds and baseball fields. The beach side has a great cafe serving breakfast and lunch or grills available for public use. The west side of the park has a permanent amphitheater stage with outdoor seating where Shakespeare By the Sea performs on an annual basis, as well as national acts throughout the year. The west side of the park also boasts several covered pavilions, bbq grills and an exercise trail. Fun place for everyone all year long!
