“So glad we found it!”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Read about this restaurant. In the food section of our local paper, and we hustled up there early
as the don't take reservations. We were quickly seated at the last table for two and our waiter was quick to bring us water and he helped us select a couple of wines by the glass. One of the specials was fried green tomatoes, and they were some of the best ever. The batter was light, and the tomatoes were obviously picked for consumption that evening. They were a perfect temperature and texture.

The special was shrimp and grits, so I knew what my wife was having and I wavered between the
Shrimp capellini and the pork shoulder. The chard and cherry peppers won me over and again the texture was pitch perfect. I plan to return early next month for the pork!

We were going to pass on dessert, but the chocolate cake at the next table called to us, so it was either fate or good luck because it was completely delicious.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We've lived within 1 mile of this place for a couple of years now and had no idea that it was so close and so good. We had the fried chicken and waffle and the chicken basil sandwich; both awesome. Really friendly staff, great food, and a nice clean place all made for a fantastic meal!

“Family Run, Fresh Food, Tiny Space”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Get there early because the fresh food is worth it. Friendly staff, mostly related. Lots of market of the day meals, but some favorites remains. Have never taken anyone here who did not love it. cozy tables plus two long sit-at bars. Cooking goes on on the opposite side of one of the bars so you can, if you like, watch your food being prepared.

“It's about time”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

It's about time that this area gets a farm-to-table option what with all the money and well-traveled people in the area.

The menu is interesting, serving very solid food executed very well. For someone who has traveled and eaten extensively, there probably isn't anything on the menu that is truly outstanding or mind-blowing, but it is very very good given the other options in the area.

The service is extremely friendly, and you can tell everyone really cares about the food or is very well coached to act like they care about the food.

There are no downsides to caring about where your food came from. I'll definitely be back.

“Menu that surprises!”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 via mobile

Absolutely loved Coolinary Cafe. Their menu is very different and exciting. I had the southern fried chicken on top of jalapeño cheddar cheese waffle. My fiancé had the rib burger (?) and we had something like a pumpkin pancake -- all very good! Price is reasonable for the unusual fare that you get. Vibe is hip -- a lot of young professionals. It's a small place so be either early or late for dinner, otherwise the wait could be over 45 minutes. I recommend this place to everyone I know.
