“Surprisingly good dinner”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

This place sort of reminded us of Mama's Fishhouse in Hawaii. Mostly outside dining under umbrellas or open Tiki Hut but excellent service and food. Very crowded and often times a very long wait we hear but we were off season a little bit and waited less than 1/2 an hour. Initially we were told it be an hour and a half wait. Almost didn't stay but glad we did even if we had to wait longer. Just a very enjoyable atmosphere to have a cocktail and sit by the River while waiting or at many of the standing tables or bar.

“Great surprise”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

What a very special evening. We didn't know what to expect and wound up experiencing a delightful evening. The food was very good although I would have like to see more variety. The view was wonderful and after dinner we enjoyed sitting on the dock with drinks and coffee. Valet parking only but that was okay as they were quick to retrieve your car. You really have to look for the turn off because the sign is small and you could miss it. You can use Schooners as a landmark which is just across the road. I definitely would go back even if it is about a 40 minute drive from home. It was that enjoyable.

“Agreed great ambiance - food, service, not so great”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

It appears to have possibilities, actually the decor and feel reminded me of a really good Aruba restaurant: Madame Jannette's. The service was not good at all and the food was average. We waited in the bar area and it took well over 20 minutes for anyone to offer to get us a drink..trying to get to the bar to order one on our own was very difficult. Once seated, we actually got a nice table near the water, however, the waitress missed so many opportunities to provide better service and/or obtain more money for her business She never asked whether we needed another round of drinks, didnt ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. She was very quick to provide the check...I could understand if she wanted to turn the table for a wait but there wasnt one. Upon leaving our over all thought of the restaurant was it could have been a really cool or fun evening, but it ended up feeling like we had just left a tourist trap.

I loved this place when it first opened and probably longer. Recent meals have been poor and disappointing

“Great ambiance...and that's about it”
Reviewed May 8, 2014 via mobile

We have been here many times for drinks and appetizers but today decided to try dinner. We ordered a variety of things: blackened fresh fish tacos, fresh snapper with tequila lime marinade, grouper, coconut shrimp, and a burger. All the food was bland. Not one person thought their food was special. Small portions, especially for the price. Our mixed drinks were very weak. Our service was really terrible. We saw her four times - when she took our order, when she delivered the food, when she came back an hour later to see we were done, and when she gave us our check. She never refilled our drinks or asked how our food was. Even when we were done with our meal, we sat for 20 minutes before she realized we were done.

Our meal was over $300 for 7 people. Too much for mediocre food, weak drinks and bad service. We will probably go back and enjoy the awesome ambiance with wine and fish dip.
