My girlfriend and I decided it was time for a Saturday road trip on our three-day weekend. We headed up the coast to Jupiter Island and Hobe Sound, Florida. Our escape from reality could not have been more relaxing, though it was now time for dinner. We followed the locals as they were headed for Guanabanas, as only one word could describe this restaurant…ecstasy.

Once we arrived, we could have been immediately seated under the tiki hut, next to the soothing sounds of a waterfall, while watching the band prepare for their evening performance. Though we chose to wait, stimulating our taste buds by reading their menu, while waiting for the perfect table along side the water. We could have not planned a more delicious dinner. We started with an appetizer of slow smoked sweet and spicy wings with ranch dressing. Forget picking up the silverware, our fingers reached out to a delicious tray of savory wings, perfection as our palates were pleasingly satisfied.

As the evening timelessly went on, we admired the tropical paradise, the burning torches, and the moon rising in the sky. We shared luscious entrees of Blackened Fresh Catch Tacos and a Slow Smoked Pulled Pork Plate, and when you choose your sides…you must try the Corn Pudding. Oh, by the way, if you would like to end the evening with a little romance. Stroll a block away to the inlet lighthouse. If your heart doesn’t guide you the light will. Cheers!

In September, you can still get a table here without having to wait too long, but come winter,
the Snowbirds will pack this place. It has a great tropical atmosphere-very laid back- and flip flops are fine. The food is good, but you should stick to the standard fare like the fish tacos.
The main fish entrees are mid $20's and above and your bill can get up there pretty quickly.
There is no Happy Hour at the dining tables, so have your drinks at the bar to save money.
Overall, a nice evening, but you are paying for the atmosphere.

Get there early if you want lunch; it fills up in a hurry. Situated off the Loxahatchee River, it has a wonderful tropical setting and laid back appeal. Service comes with a smile which makes you feel comfortable. Lots of libations from the bar, including many brews on tap. The food is primarily seafood from the local area, and is always fresh. Lunch entrees are large; appetizers will sometimes do. The food is good, not great, but the overall experience is wonderful. We love to go there with house guests and friends.

This restaurant was beautiful and it was a tropical paradise! We went for lunch and it was lovely sitting near the water. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Our food was delicious and the coconut shrimp was especially yummy!
