“It's a bar with a view. Restaurant - I don't think so”
Reviewed January 29, 2010

The views and the setting and the ambiance are all great. The Square Grouper is on the water just inside the Jupiter Inlet. This is a great place to watch the boats, talk to the locals, enjoy a or a few or more cold beers and is quite enjoyable as a great beach bar. Oh, and if you have children under 21, don't even think about it. The kids, even the college kids under 21, can't even get on the premises. The food is ordinary and if you don't eat hot dogs and hamburgers, you are out of luck. This may be the only Florida beach restaurant I have ever visited with no seafood . (And no salads). It's a bar with tables on the sand, but no table service. It is a restaurant but with no real food. It's a great bar on the beach.

“A great spot to hang out and see the lighthouse and inlet in Jupiter”
Reviewed November 23, 2009

This a great outdoor spot overlooking the Jupiter Inlet and the Lighthouse. It is super casual--you sit on plastic chairs under palm trees taking in the great view. It is mainly a bar with some food--hot dogs, burgers, etc. It reminds you of Old Florida.

“I'm tempted to under rate this so you won't want to go...”
Reviewed May 28, 2009

But I won't. I have to be honest, this is a great little bar that seems to be a local hideout. It would be sweet if we could all keep it to ourselves, but we know that would be a disservice to you.

The setting here is off the charts. I brought a friend here the other day who was visiting from New York and, after hanging out for a couple of hours, he proclaim "I think this is the greatest bar I've ever been to in my entire life!" Not a bad review.

They always have drink specials so make sure you ask about them. We did and spent an many hours here and ended up walking away with a bill for about $20 each. Not bad when you stick to those drink specials.

I've never eaten here, but the food is your typical bar food. Burgers, dogs and wings. I've seen people eating it and it looks good, but I can't say for sure. Might be amazingly good.

This is the type of bar you're going to be able to sit at and be waited on, unless you're sitting AT the bar. You're going to need to get up and go to the bar to get your next drink. That's just the way it is, but the bartenders are extremely quick and there's never much of a wait regardless of the size of the crowd.

We recently saw a great band playing here on the very cool stage. They played all sorts of classic rock and really added to the ambiance. I think it was Acoustic Remedy.

So, if you must, go enjoy Square Grouper, but try not to tell your friends. We don't want this place getting too crowded. Thanks.

“Great water view-limited food”
Reviewed May 10, 2009

If you want a great view of the water and Jupiter Lighthouse, while having a beer, this is the place. Food menu is very limited....about 4 items: cheeseburger, wings, pork sandwich, hot dogs. It's at the very end of Love Street.

I do not think this is a restaurant. We went for drinks and did not see any food. The atmophere is the whole thing. A tiki style bar (actually 2 bars). Sand beach (not too soft that you sink in it). Plenty of seating, boat docking, on the intercoastal. you can see Jupiter inlet. A Corona and a Bass $7.25. Can't beat that. Hard to find, at end of LOve Street on right, no signs. Seems only the locals know about this one. Enjoy.
