My husband & I had been meaning to check out this little informal eatery with indoor & outdoor seating near the beach. We finally did! We shared a grilled scallop meal which was very good, but we were disappointed that the staff was not at all friendly to us. They seemed like friendy people to their "regulars", but the person who took our drink order, looked away while I was still giving my order & turned to my husband to get his order. She then came back with silverware, that she just dropped on our table. Another waitress who was handling our food order, barely acknowledged us throughout our meal, although she once asked if we were okay. We practically had to trip her to stop for our check as they were all so busy chatting with other customers. We ate outside, so I cannot comment on the cleanliness of the place, but the outside placemats need replacing.

“The BEST Grouper Sandwich!”
Reviewed December 27, 2013 via mobile

Been coming for years. Best grouper sandwich I have ever had. Indulge and get it fried. Crab chowder is a must too, if they have it. It's a special.

It's Sunday morning, so it's another breakfast at Cathy's. Where else can you get fine/casual dining wearing shorts, sandals, and a t-shirt...visit Cathy's and you'll understand.

“Wish they would band smokers :-(”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

This is now called Cathy's Beach Connection Restaurant. Small casual open air seating on picnic type tables. Some indoor seating but tight quarters. Love to go early evening when the days heat has gone and tired of sitting in air-conditioning. Unfortunately, have had to leave and search elsewhere for dinner when the smokers are already there. They tend to sit in the tables on the North side of the porch and the fans blow their smoke to all the tables below them. The porch type seating is only about 6 tables long so you are very close to the unpleasant odor. Not welcome with ones dinner. :-(
That said, if you aren't bothered by smokers...the food is very good and I love the local, know your waitress style.

“One wheelchair table. Great breakfast. So so service.”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

I agree service is not exceptional. They seem to treat the regulars far better than the drop-bys. But, our breakfast choices were exceptional. We had the blueberry and sweet potato pancakes, the stuffed French toast and regular French with crispy bacon. The coffee was mediocre.
