“Excellent across the board”
Reviewed July 29, 2009

We had a party of six and each of us ordered a selection from a different style of food. We were amazed at the the genuine quality of every single item we ordered. We first went for lunch and decided we liked it so much that we had it for dinner before we came back home.

From a reuben sandwich to fish and chips to pizza to salmon to steak...all top quality. And the wait staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. Very clean and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Hurricane Cafe.

“Great little place!”
Reviewed July 6, 2009

I've eaten here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The atmosphere is much better than expected considering it is in a small strip mall. The inside is very cute, the wait staff friendly, and the meals better than expected.

“Solid local restaurant”
Reviewed April 18, 2009

Have not tried lunch or dinner here, but the breakfast was fantastic. Portions were good, not over the top, just right. Service was quick, and the price was great. They have an "early bird special" for their breakfast as well.

“Good food, no atmosphere”
Reviewed April 4, 2009

The Hurricane Cafe was a pleasant surprise from a culinary aspect, but a failure for atmosphere. Very Asian style fusion menu, fussy about their teas and espressos, decent wine list, addle brained hostess. Never trust a hostess that decides to argue with multiple customers on multiple nights (we were there twice in four days, and she squabbled with the clientelle both times.)

Beyond that the food was marvelous. Succulent seafood, a delicious shrimp with coconut sauce, wonderful salads, and a to-die-for smoked fish spread appetizer.

Now, to the atmosphere. There isn't any. A cattle chute narrow entrance, harsh lighting, a few tables on a patio outside near a major highway, and a silly bar in the corner. If you want the low light, intimate dining experience, look elsewhere. If you want excellent, reasonably priced food, stand in line for a while and overlook the hostess. Besides, she'll get into an argument with someone else and leave you alone.
