The food was good but not exceptional, but if you like seafood, they have an incredible selection. The lobster bisque was very, very good, and I had the mahi maki which was ok, but not exceptional. Staff were very pleasant. This is a place to go with a big group, as they have lots of room. For in intimate gourmet dinner, another place might be better.

Here is how the Dolphin website describes their place: "The location of The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, as it was created by famous movie star Frances Langford, is unique, literally over-hanging the river’s edge, and this gives the site the area’s most spectacular panoramic views." Well I would agree, and as such, we always make sure to head over here for the "Shrimp and Lobster Bisque" at lunch time. One of the best I have had in Florida. Having read some of the reviews which downplay the food I can't say that has been our experience, but we have had only one full meal here, though it was quite good (fish). The wine list is extremely fair in pricing and diverse enough to satisfy people who enjoy a good wine with their meal. The best wine list I have seen in this area. All in all I would recommend this restaurant for a lunch time spot and I wouldn't hesitate to try it for dinner.

This restaurant sits on the Indian River and has great views. On occasion our visits have been complimented by small pods of dolphins playing in the river as we dined. This seems to be a hit or miss type of restaurant as far as food. Their lounge is enclosed and glass front, affording the best of views when the weather doesn't cooperate. But I have to admit, the "elegant old-time Florida" just shines through everytime.

Original florida decor on water. Has all the earmarks of a good restaurant on the river. However the food was terrible with fair service. Common step it up in the kitchen.

A waterfront restaurant in a building with rich history, fantastic views and great menu choices. So many waterfront restaurants fill up space with tacky tourist crap and cheep food. This place is the opposite, comfortable furniture, very good food. Definitely worth a lunch or dinner when in town.
