I really enjoyed my stay at the Casa Marina. I was traveling solo, and the hotel made me feel at home. It's a neat, old building that has lots of history and ambiance. I was a little worried when I pulled up to the hotel, because the neighborhood looked pretty rough. Turns out that they happen to have some closed businesses and a lot of construction going on within view, and the neighborhood is just fine.
The room was huge and quite comfortable. Mine overlooked the ocean, which was a plus.
I ate at the restaurant twice, and the food was delicious. First time at the roof top bar, which was fun, but windy. Second time in the hotel courtyard, and there was a dance band playing. Lots of people were dancing, and the place was hopping.
Staff was really nice. They let me use the computer at the front desk to check in for my flight and print my boarding pass. When I travel alone, I like staying in off-beat places, and this hotel reminded me why. I felt much less anonymous and more like a guest of the hotel.More
